Very interesting book!

This story was very interesting and informative. I enjoyed the history. I liked the author’s style of telling the story. I liked the characters. This was a very good book. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Accurate and Interesting

I appreciate the historical accuracy woven into a compelling story of the settlement of Jefferson County.

The story of my people!

I love history of all sorts. The more the historical record has lead to my place and time in history, the more exciting it is to my eyes and mind. Well THIS book, more than all others I’ve encountered thus far, closely mirrors my own family’s historical pilgrimage, beginning with the migration from the Carolinas, to arriving in Madison Fl in the mid 1820’s, right down to the striving and substance of their way of life in the early days of North (central) Florida. I appreciate the extensive effort that was so obviously spent on making this book so historically accurate and interesting. And thanks as well for sharing the sources and generously giving credit. (Including a quote from my great grandfather. That was a neat surprise!). I look forward to flying through the other two books!
