This is a simple message of hope. It told a story that did not overwhelm one in trauma but, rather explained simply the bare minimum information to comprehend the message. And the message is precious.

Uplifting and not overwhelming

I came to this audiobook via watching the movie Pain & Gain, starring The Rock and Mark Wahlberg, based on a true story. I was interested in the mindset of a man who fought to keep his dignity when subjected to savage humiliation and terrible circumstances and a horrible stress and pain during a month-long kidnapping ordeal while the perpetrators try to drain him financially of everything he had. although this audiobook clocks in at probably under an hour I still enjoyed hearing the mindset of a man who didn't know if he was going to survive his challenging experience or not but fought to keep a positive attitude and keep his wits about him. I would always rather take inspirational advice from someone who has experienced the worst life can throw at them and come out the other side, not just someone who makes their living as a motivational speaker.

short but interesting listen
