AMAZING detail and information....BUT
This book is a dear favorite. When I was starting my path over a decade ago, this book was referred to me by a stranger who said, “read this first, and then see if you still want to study.” This was in a bookstore while teenage me had a stack of books on Wicca and Witchcraft. Thank the gods they did! This book is the BEST starting point I can offer anyone, it’s also still a solid foundation block of reading to this day for my studies.
However, STOP HAVING PAM WARD READ PAGAN BOOKS! I’ve run into her a lot with pagan, Wiccan, and witchcraft books. Looking at her reading history she has no reason to be our narrator. You can tell she doesn’t care, and doesn’t know the subject. She mispronounces a ton of things from holidays, tools, traditions, and even something as simple as “Bonewits” (Dear Pam, it’s not hard, Bone-Wits... just like it’s written.)
Greet book, wonderful information, terrible reader. It saddens me that because of Pam Ward alone, this audio book gets 3 stars.

Paganism: A Cringe Worthy Religion
I was excited to hear a new perspective from a religion that I had not heard much about but it turned out pretty disappointing from the get go. The book spends half its time bashing organized religion and the concept of universal truth and assumes the reader comes from a disaffected Christian background. The authors obviously have a lot of pent up frustration with their fundamentalist background which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't spend most of the book hating on organized religion instead of explaining their own perspective. I'm sure other Pagans could do a much better job explaining there ideas but this book give one the impression that all Pagans are edgy teens who are mad at their parents for making them go to church.

Horrible, confusing and laughable
I thought I would be listening to an adult conversation about Pagan thought and history. What I got was idiotic mediation guides ( like way too many and waayyyyy too long). Ever have an awkward conversation with someone who is trying to explain their hobby to you but it drifts off to a painful 6 hours of dribble? yup that's about as far as I got. If you are interested in Paganism , this " book" will only make you question if you're a nut job. Better books out there.

great books super informative
this is a great introduction whether you're looking into paganism or looking to learn more about it. if anybody has a family member who is looking into the path of pagan this is a great tool. I wish the person reading the book would have gone a bit slower during the meditation. I had to physically pause my phone to give myself the one minute breather which took me out of the meditative staten But besides that, amazing!
