great book

lots of plot, very little steamy parts. characters are all developed, tension is perfect. this is my second read through and I'm every bit as captivated as the first time. I would recommend this book

Great account of Robert the Bruce and Elizabeth

STORY: This book is about the romantic relationship between Robert the Bruce and Elizabeth de Burgh. These are real characters in Scotland history, a quick online search will fill you in if you are not familiar. There are not many historical records of women in this time (early 14th century). What we do know is Robert the Bruce plays for team Scotland and Elizabeth was born into a powerful family who was team England – so how did they end up together? This author does a great job of creating a story around what facts we do know; this is a quite believable version of how their courtship could have gone.

WHAT I THOUGHT: 4.5 stars. I was pulled in. I really liked the way the characters were developed. I truly disliked the bad guys and was rooting for the good ones. If I had any critique it would be that it drug on a little in some parts, and there were times that these very smart leads missed obvious clues. In general, I found this book very entertaining and definitely worth a credit.
