Another masterpiece from the golden era of SW. Before the Dark Times (Disney)

While I enjoyed Davis’ abridged narration of this novel, it pained me to be unable to experience this wonderful story fully. Thompson is brilliant as usual and this is an amazing read if you’re already a fan of Thrawn’s character

Why would you get rid of Eli Vanto 

The overall book is so much better than the previous version they have on here but at the end or the book they rewrite an older but eliminating a key person. Know as Eli vanto without a doubt this takes me 100% out of the book for the last hour and a half of the book! Don’t get me wrong it is a good book but that last bit just sucked!

Masterpiece

I waited a long time for this book to be unabridged and glad I did. Zahn is a writing Genius and Marc Thompson is unbelievable in narration. This book was worth every penny and every minute.

first no Eli Vanto,

So Mist Encounter does not have Eli Vanto, but at the same time, I still want to see how this goes, I must say, there are times I did wish "things did not do (as planned)". but I love Thrawn, so I loved this book and how it tied in with a few other books.

I enjoy the inflections going between each character by the narrator.

Really enjoyed how it was two stories in the beginning. Then the author was able to bring the separate stories together, wonderful.

Modern Thrawn Character Retained!

I loved having the 2017-Present Thrawn character voice and actions in place for Outbound flight. I just completed the heir to the empire trilogy, and I found Thrawn to be as one dimensional as any villain. I completed that trilogy after the 2017- present books, and it’s night and day character development differences. Heir to the empire, he wants to rule the empire, and that’s essentially it. 2017-present Thrawn cares about others, rules fairly, and knows how to play for the greater good. Most importantly, it always felt as though Heir to the empire Thrawn was losing like villians do, but was able to get everyone on their heels in the last act. 2017-present Thrawn never loses, and it’s captivating victories. That’s the Thrawn you get in this book along with a new perspective on the arrogance of the Jedi prior to revenge of the sith. You even get a little more motive from palp’s perspective of the necessity of the empire. In other words, not just evil to be evil. As a bonus, we get some anakin and obi wan training time together, and you get more building blocks to the perspective anakin has in clone wars and revenge of the sith when it comes to politics and the ways of the Jedi. This was a refreshing and easily integratabtle story that remains loosely canon in my eyes.

Thrawn Thrawn Thrawn! Perfect performance, perfect story. There was nothing about this I would say is bad. Every word holds your intrigue. Amazing.

It was the actually full story which is how it should always

Marc Thompson is by far the best voice over for Star Wars. He really immerses you into the story allowing you to actually enjoy it

Another amazing entry

Audio quality and story telling was as ever fantastic. The edition of the short story at the end was a pleasant cherry on top.

it's an absolute must read for any Thrawn fans Mark Thompson does some of the best audio book performance I've ever heard. if it's got Star Wars in the title with Zawn as the author and Thompson as the reader I'm going to listen!
