Publisher's Summary

Faith and Monty are both looking for love...in the wrong direction.

Faith Forrester is at a crossroads. Single, thirty and living on a farm in a small Western Australian town, she's sick of being treated like a kitchen slave by her brother and father. Ten years ago, her mother died of breast cancer, and Faith has been treading water ever since. She wants to get her hands dirty on the family farm. She wants to prove to herself that she's done something worthwhile with her life. And she wants to find a man...

For as long as he can remember, Daniel "Monty" Montgomery has been Faith's best friend. When he was ten, his parents sold the family property in Merindah and moved to Perth to be closer to support services for his autistic brother, and ever since, Monty's dreamed of having his own place. So for the last ten years, he's been back on the land, working odd jobs and saving every dollar to put toward his dream. And now he finally has it. But there's still something missing...

So when Faith embarks on a mission to raise money for a charity close to her heart—Dogs for Autism—and Monty's dream property comes on the market, things seem like they are falling into place for them both. Until a drunken night out ends with them sleeping together. Suddenly, the best friends are both facing a new set of challenges...

Monty and Faith are both ready to find a life partner and settle down, but have they both been looking in all the wrong places?

I really like this book

I read this a while ago and then listen to it on Audible as well about 6 months later. It was my first full Audible book experience and I liked it - I liked the narration.

Unputdownable

I've read a few of Rachel John's titles now, and although they all follow the same recipe, the characters in each book are original enough to keep the stories fresh.
I read some reader reviews calling out the narrators mispronunciation of WA towns, but I'm a QLDer, so not a biggie for me 🙂
All in all, a great read, good romance and perfect ending.
Praise for Casey Withoos whose narration is perfect (aside from the "AWE-bany" vs AL-bany" faux pas according to the Western Australian reviewers.

WA town pronounciations!

Rachel's stories based in some real general WA country and rural areas and rural life are great....and it's wonderful to have local based stories that sound real.....however as a West Aussie I, like others reviewing here, am irked by the mispronounciations of our towns and cities especially as the towns are radiated over and over.. The narator really needs to get proper pronunciation from native West Aussies..(not Sydney?) The pronunciation and emphasis are wrong for WA...and would niggle at interstators if their towns were continuously said incorrectly. It is AL-Bany (Not Awe-bany!!!) and it's just cringy listening to this said incorrectly dozens of times. It is also KO - Jonup with the KO as one syllable. In saying this, having lived in a WA country town, it is wonderful to see a local author writing simple, but interesting life like stories that are easy listening, to while away some relaxing hours, rather than full on books that require great concentration. Keep up the great work but please fix the town pronunciations moving forward :)

A gentle, enjoyable story

Loved listening to this - but pleaseteach your narrator to say AL bany, (NOT AWLbany) and KOHjonup (not kojonup) If reading Western Australian names, for a WA author, & WA audience, please pronounce them prroperly
