SHE WAS NEXT

IT HAD PLANS FOR HER
This is three long short stories or novelettes. Each running close to three hours. I loved the first story Outage. Piperbrook showed that he can build suspense with the best of them. If you listened to this I suggest you give it your full attention. You don't want the suspense to be interrupted. The first story also had some real cool twists that I did not see coming. In one chapter we were even able to get into the head of the werewolf. I wish TW could have done more of that. I always like to hear what the bad guy is thinking. The first story got me all excited for the next two stories and I was going to get Contamination, to see if his talents extended to that series. I also like that it is in third person, I don't care much for first person horror stories.

THE QUIET FELT LIKE A SECOND ENTITY
I just could not get into the second story or the third. The main character Tom is just not that interesting. It also was mostly chase scenes. I even saw the twist in book two coming way ahead of time, since it was a rerun of book one. I was surprised though, in the epilogue of book three. Book one is a five star story, so you need to decide if you want to get it separate or get the bundle and take your chances.

The narrator is excellent for this series.

I loved it !

Would you listen to Outage Boxed Set: Books 1-3 again? Why?

Yes I would, It was well written and a great listen. It kept me on the edge of my seat right from the beginning. I have been listening to a lot of wolf shifter romance lately and this was a great change of pace. I hope T.W. decides to write book #4

What was one of the most memorable moments of Outage Boxed Set: Books 1-3?

When the young couple let their secret out, I did not see that coming, after that I didn't trust anybody.

Which character – as performed by Troy Duran – was your favorite?

I liked several characters but I would have to say Tom.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh my gosh yes, there was never really a time in it when I felt I could take a break from it. It was just a great book.

Any additional comments?

Thanks T.W. Piperbrook, I loved your book and hoping for a next book !

Love it! Werewolves like they're suppose to be!

This author did something right that allot don't. He was able to kill off main characters without me wanting to throw down my ipod & walk away from the book! Drives me insane when an author kills off a character because he thinks he should not because it is needed for the story. grrrr Horrible storm comes to New England. Town is isolated & storm takes out the powers. Apparently "they" have been waiting for this storm. The main character is "Tom". Not your typical hero. He's in his 50's. NOT an ex police, ex military nor is he ex rambo. Just regular guy. I love it. The story revolves around Tom & his battle with creatures that come out to play when the snow hits. The creatures are how they should be. Violent, scary, huge and everywhere! Tom loses loved ones, friends and saves allot of people. I don't want to give anything away but you'll love it. I did. AWESOME! Can't wait for the next I've listened to 1-3, 4 & 5. Narrator GREAT. You will NOT regret it.

Fantastically Horrifying

Any additional comments?

I have never considered myself a werewolf fiction fan, but this book collection changed that. The story hits the ground running by instantly throwing the reader into a terrifying situation as a man goes from worrying about annoying his wife to fighting for his life. Things only got more intense after that as first one character then another found themselves fighting the elements and creatures out of nightmares. I was constantly on the edge of my seat never knowing who was going to make it and the author consistently surprised me with well timed plot twists. What I loved the most was the authors wonderful ability to "show" rather than tell. I was cuddled up in blankets longing for hot chocolate because just reading the book made me feel as if I was in the middle of a blizzard struggling through the snow with my favorite characters.

one of the best books I've heard in a long time!

First let me say if you like any horror books this is for you. It was so much better than I could have anticipated. The characters were well developed and the story had twists I didn't expect. I can often guess how a story is going to go, that was not the case here. I also love where the author got his idea for the book. I was in that storm also so it was neat that's where it came from. The narrator did an excellent job.

ONE OF THESE BEST SERIES EVER

I absolutely loved this series. A great werewolf series with a awesome story line. I immediately finished the first book and then purchased the rest of the series. The first book keeps you on your toes and praying for the character. Often caught myself holding my breathe...lol!!!

Realistic plot with unexpected twists

I enjoyed the story because, even though there are plenty of werewolf stories out there, this one had a unique, modern twist. The main character was admirable and his actions were realistic, and nothing that happened in the story seemed contrived.

OMG...... unbelievable

When I started this book I didn't think it would be so fantastic. I went by the description when I bought it thinking it's a great price for 3 books and it would be something just to pass time. Boy was I wrong, lol.

The narrator was fabulous, he played all the characters extremely well. I was able to keep up with who was "talking" while I multitasked, as usual, lol. He keep me so engaged at time I wished he'd speak faster, lol.

This book is a real page turner. In my opinion the author did a great job rounding out the story and I'm going to jump right into book 4.

There were so many twists and turns & surprises. I'm not one that cheers on any character in any of the books I've read our listened to but my goodness, as I was doing other things I actually heard myself trying to coax the main character Tom into what to do it not do, lol.

This book does not disappoint the reader or the listener in any way. There's very few cuss words and no sexual parts. Just a fantabulous story, storyline and characters. I did cuss out a few of them tho, lol.

Thanks for reading my review.

Outage

I am not very good at writing reviews, but I just wanted to say I have greatly enjoyed this series .
Great story line, lots of action and plot twist.
And a surprise ending, I did not see coming.
And thankfully I found books 4 and 5.
What happens in a matter of hours in one night , you feel as if the time in the story line is days or weeks.
so much happens in one night, fast passed and never a dull moment!
Loved this series!

Glad it was on offer

Not the greatest I'm afraid typical american dime store horror novel. Full of bad decisions, hate of honda civics and the token black guy who loses it.

All read by Troy McClure you may know him from such audio books as "I really don't care about these characters" and "Hurry up and eat everybody". Honestly he must put that accent on. I got the trilogy for £1.99 so can't complain if I'd have paid full price I'd have been upset.

Outage Boxes Se: Books 1-3

I'm new to TW Piperbrook, my first Piperbrook experience was the Ruins - which thoroughly enjoyed and, If recommend that series to anyone!!. When I started on the Outage series O wasn't sure where it was headed?. The "beasts" in Outage came as a surprise to me, if never really been into these type of "beast" stories. However, i have to admit that I have loved this take on things, and, once again Piperbrook has thoroughly entertained me!. I enjoy his style of writing which I find to be immersive and griping in a gritty way. Now, I'm looking forward to books 4&5!!.

Books 2 and 3 were better than 1.

This was an enjoyable series of books.

However, I thought Abby in book 1 was a bit of a moron. I hated practically every single decision she made!
Eg “Let’s leave our house in a massive snowstorm in an unreliable car, and just hope we can find shelter before the car craps out on us....”
I’m sorry but that seemed very stupid to me. If the car breaks down they’ll wish they were back at home. Well they probably wouldn’t because they’d be frozen to death.

Honestly if all 3 books hadn’t been in one set I wouldn’t have bothered after book 1.

Which would’ve been a shame, because I thought book 2 and 3 were far far better than the first. More action, more drama, fewer dumb decisions (mostly), and much better characters.

I liked how the third book ended too, and I see there are two more sequels. I think I’ll give those a try, since each sequel is better than the last.
