You may not like the message of Out of a Far Country, but you would do yourself a great disservice by not listening or reading this book. While approaching to topic without being crud or graphic, Christopher Yuan tells us about his sexual exploits while living as a homosexual. It is a subject that is rarely discussed. He does not imply that his story reflects the average person committed to this lifestyle; however, he does not shy away from the topic. Christopher teaches us that change is possible in one of the areas we consider most intimate to all of us, our sexuality. Christopher shows us that total surrender to Christ touches the most intimate aspects of our lives. And that Christ can leave us fulfilled in every facet of our lives. The most surprising quality of this book is Christopher and Mrs. Yuan’s honest and unapologetic recounting of a life powerfully, shockingly, unexpectedly transformed. Its raw and explicit retrospection bares the core of their souls. It gives insight into cultural clashes, identity misplacement and the final place of deepest contentment. Their journey speaks to the misunderstandings that may be present within both the LGBTQ and Christian communities and lays a truthful Biblical understanding of human sexuality. Anybody who is willing to seek understanding on this social issue ought to begin by listening to this book.

Full of Hope

This presentation especially being read by the authors was so moving. This story inspires hope that God does indeed answer prayer! I was also surprised at the little theological nuggets sprinkled throughout this story!

Great book!

I could not stop listening! It’s a great book of redemption. I loved hearing both testimonies of mother and son. At times it was hard listening to Christopher’s graphic description of his lifestyle but I loved his honesty and I think it was necessary to hear it. Hearing it gave me an idea of how low he had gone. I highly recommend this book.

Must Read!

We need more published testimonies like Christopher and Angela’s. Their voices are for right now and respond so gracefully, yet truthfully- to our current culture.
