Publisher's Summary

Christopher Yuan, the son of Chinese immigrants, discovered at an early age that he was different. He was attracted to other boys. As he grew into adulthood, his mother, Angela, hoped to control the situation. Instead she found that her son and her life were spiraling out of control - and her own personal demons were determined to defeat her.

Years of heartbreak, confusion, and prayer followed before the Yuans found a place of complete surrender, which is God's desire for all families. Their amazing story, told from the perspectives of both mother and son, offers hope for anyone affected by homosexuality.

Not every day!

Wow! I didn’t expect to experience this. I was reading another book that referenced this book and so I purchased it. Curious to what or how it would approach these topics of grace, love, patience, sexuality and idolatry. I was was left nervous, humbled, broken and uncomfortable as this incredibly transparent and real story unfolded. The Honest expression of feeling and thought was so genuine and real that it was almost scary! This book of love will expose, engage, give grace and poor out love into your story!

We need more published testimonies like Christopher and Angela’s. Their voices are for right now and respond so gracefully, yet truthfully- to our current culture.

Glory to the Lamb of God

What a beautiful reminder of Christ’s redemptive power. Love and prayer should always override emotions. I am so happy for Christopher, his parents and what God has done in their lives. Hallelujah glory to God.

A touching account well-rendered

This book is well-written, and the narration is very well done. Themes in this book are best suited to older teens and adults as the authors tell their story very plainly. Details included are necessary to comprehend the extent of change in the lives of Christopher and Angela. Angela’s account, presented alongside that of her son’s, is important because she explains how self-righteousness is just as ugly as the path her son went down. This book is definitely well worth reading or listening.

Didn’t love it

The narrator for Chris has trouble with delivery missing the meaning of sentences by screwing up the stress and release frequently. But worse is how flippant his delivery is on serious subjects. Party and play is treated very casually. I’ve been there and done that: it’s not casual, and it’s only fun in the midst of the drug-addled haze. I wish the narrator for Chris was just more sober and serious.

An answer to so many questions so there is hope

My granddaughter recommended this book as she has a transport cousin.
I lloved that the narration was shared by a man and a woman. I must admit to worrying that it would be another 'accept me as I am' story about another gay man as I hear it constantly from my grandson. Not so. This book is tough and it is real.
Probably the hardest prayer a mother can pray is " Lord, do whatever you have to in order to bring my son to you." That's the prayer I'm praying right now.
