Story
I was in your kitchen when you told me cheating is wrong, and it will never be right. But the biggest conflict is when you fall in love with someone who isn’t yours. You said people fall in and out of love every day, and that most of it is bullshit...being more about passion and temporary emotions. But when the person you’re cheating with is worth a commitment and a sacrifice, and when you’re prepared in your heart and mind to walk through the fire of the mess, it might be something real after all.

Some believe the old adage, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire". Well, in some instances the smoke is just a coverture for secrets. Dark ones. Ragee is a successful R&B singer, music composer, and actor who shot to fame and celebrity at rocketing speed. He has the voice, the troubled soul, the seductive look, and the alluring mystique, all of which give him the traditional packaging of a soulful rhythm and blues singer. But he also has an unshakable stigma attached to his stardom that won’t seem to go away.

In the wake of a tragedy that shook the whole organization, she’s had no issues stepping into power beside her lifelong friend–her brother.

How does a man handle the risk-taker, a no-nonsense type of woman such as Zafirah? The one who seems so well put together on the outside but won’t let anyone within an inch of discovering what’s inside. Without a doubt, Zafirah is a daddy’s girl and in her eyes has the perfect role model as a father, which makes it hard for any man to compare. Is her heart even capable of allowing another being to direct her steps?

Story
Hailey Freeman goes to Blackwood with a specific mission - at least on the surface. When a sudden tragedy thrusts her into chaos, she expects to find herself mired in confusion, bereft, while she figures out how to pick up the pieces. Instead, she finds comfort, clarity, and - baffling - familiarity in the arms of Ellis Boyd. A stranger. A stranger who can’t help wondering if he knows Hailey somehow, met her somewhere, another time that they just can’t remember—the only explanation for their swift, consuming connection. At least, the only one that makes sense.

If there’s any one thing Pierre and Logan have in common, it’s their ability to invite snap judgements based on shallow views of who they are. Logan is the privileged only daughter of a respected family whose legacy runs long and deep. Pierre is the moody, orphaned son of big screen royalty who couldn’t possibly live up to the prestige of his pedigree. Or maybe not.

Love that says something, instead of just looking like it. Love you can always trust to feel like home. For both of them, it’s something that has always been just outside of their peripheral, something to be observed rather than experienced. A depth of feeling reserved for people who were “into” that, those with a different outlook, those more...deserving. Until their paths cross.

For Naomi Prescott, it's not just a cute little saying. It's a critical mantra, words to live by if she wants to retain her freedom, and, more importantly, her life. Impeccable planning is the only way to ensure she sets off the small flutters that will trigger the big ripple she needs to pull off the score of a lifetime - no matter the stakes. FBI Agent Marcus Calloway is a straight-shooter...if you overlook his sometimes unconventional, law-skirting, expensive ways of solving a case. A big arrest would do wonders to restore his reputation, and he has one woman in mind: Jolie Voleuse.

I don’t believe in objectifying men. I don’t catcall men. I don’t ogle the bodies of men. I don’t view men as objects of my affection rather than complex people with feelings, wants, and needs of their own. I don’t treat men the way society often treats women. I treat men the way I want to be treated as a woman - with respect! So, when Carlos ran into me while I was reviewing my interview questions in the park, it surprised me to see my photography classmate out of class. I was also surprised to see as much of him as I did.

Publisher's Summary
Okay…where do we pick up? Where we left off, of course.
Tori’s afraid, but putting forth her toughest exterior to forge ahead with the mess she’s made. And Ashton? Well, he’s confused and angry. It’s his last semester, one that had been planned meticulously by himself and others well before she even knew what a Panther was.
“You think it’s possible to put the genie back in the f--kin’ bottle now?” Here he was again, saying cryptic things, using phrases that went over her head. “What more can I say? What do you want me to do?"
Will Tori can fight her way out of the quandary she’s created at BSU? Will Ashton’s well-planned future be derailed by the new underdog-turned-"banger" on campus?

On my gosh!
I just listened to the first installment 2 weeks ago and I couldn't wait 2 weeks for next installment on Audibles, I had to buy the kindle version. There's so much to love about this book that I don't know where to start. I haven't read a book where I've been so engrossed in the characters. I just wanted them to succeed. This is a beautiful story and I encourage everyone to listen. The narrators are fantastic! They really bring the characters to life. I will be binge reading Love Belvin books. I'm so happy I discovered this author. Can't wait for the 3rd installment!

Unmuted Heartbreak!
Book 2 finds us exploring the “what if” of Nabby Girl and Ashton Spencer. What a love affair it was. These two youngsters were imperfectly perfect for each other. If they could both get over their mental hurdles of others’ expectations and perceptions, they could’ve turned the corner. In fact, you’ll crave, plead, yell, and cry to see them overcome and win together. Just as there is a glimmer of hope, it is snatched away by the maliciousness of those surrounding them (in particular NJ, Avery, and Pettiford - whom should all die slow deaths), which leads to a train wreck of unfortunate events. By the end, you are gutted with heartbreak, but hope lies just around the corner.

Gripping ... has me wanting more. I need more!
This story right here ... bay bee!! It was everything to me. The way Ashton falls for her and the way she molds to him is like something that transcends the pages and voices reading. These narrators put me right there in the scene and nothing makes me happier. The series is definitely named appropriately and even though I kind of expected things to go as they did in the end... I sure enjoyed getting there. This story resonates with me on so many levels and I need this to be on the big screen in one form or the other. I love the references to the Stenton Rogers and especially the Ellis family ... SADIK!!!... (note to author...I hope that series will be on audible as well). The performance by the narrators was top tier as usual. Black authors out there... take note ... this is how you write for the culture. Don’t go half on anything written for us and by his... give 1000% every time. LoveBelvin... from top to bottom I thank you! One million times over. Blessing from above and prayers all around.

It was ok
Story was ok but was a little disappointed with how it ended and so many things left up in the air. To spend 16 hrs listening and still be unfinished was a little heartbreaking but the narrators were awesome. Hopefully there is a part 3 that is in the present since last 2 was all in the past.

Surprisingly, I loved it!
Book one wasn't my favorite with all of the childish banter and immature characters so I didn't know what to expect for book two. Also, because of its length I thought it would drag with meaningless details but I am pleasantly surprised how much I loved this book! This was a great continuation packed full of details that had my emotions all over the place. Some parts were still irritating to hear, especially regarding the "mean humans", but that daggon Ashton Spencer has completely won me over early in this book. I was so happy that he and Tori formed a real connection and was sad to see Tori go through so much by herself in the end. I hope book 3 will be on Audible soon, but because I need to know what is going on now, I am just gonna start reading the book- and I am hopeful that my questions will be answered fast.

Interesting read
Story lacked romance; sex scenes seem to appear out of nowhere. Story was drawn out and could have been made one book. Hard to get through book 1 and 2. I was expecting to hear about how lead character became a boxer. Characters barely came to life. I’m not interested in book 3.
