Publisher's Summary

Katy knows that the world changed the night the Luxen came. She can't believe that Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her-could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal. He and Katy must team up with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe and the world begins to crumble around them, they may have to sacrifice everything-even what they cherish most-to ensure the survival of their friends . . . and mankind.

Wow that book was action packed from beginning to end. I loved listening to Katy & Daemon's journey and how much they grew from the first book. Great ending to a great series. I'll admit the
sci-fi aspect of this series is why it took me so long to listen to it but I'm so glad I did. I really enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I should have known since it's Jennifer L. Armentrout and I enjoy all her books.

The narration was perfect by the time i finished the story these two narrators became these characters for me.

5 Opposition Stars

I am sad it is over. I really enjoyed the journey both Katy and Daemon go through. The author as a way with words when she can keep me interested in all 5 books. I can't remember the last time I binged a series like this.

This book had some highs and lows and it was slow in some parts but overall I can’t complain. I loved Kat, she is one heck of a chick. Not only does she not let Daemon get away with anything. But she has a way about her that you can’t help but admire.

She doubts herself but when push comes to shove she know what to say and how to say it in a way that everyone likes her and looks at the situation differently.

Daemon really because “humanized” he learned to let his feelings show and if that wasn’t hella sexy I don’t know what is because you wouldn’t have thought he would even grow to be like that from book one.

Some pretty crazy stuff goes down in this book and I can’t say that it doesn’t keep you on the edge of your seat. Dee and Archer also have some big issues to overcome. Luke is a character I grew to like and his story for me doesn’t feel finished. Maybe one day we will get an update.

I again loved the dual narration for this book as I did the last. Again I think Justine’s voice is a little old sounding for teenagers but once you get used to it you don’t even notice it anymore. And Rob well what can I say he is Daemon through and through for me.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Weakest story of the bunch

So I'm going to go against the grain on this one. The story was just "ok" for me. It was weak, and by this book I absolutely couldn't stand Beth. Maybe it was the narration, but I just wanted the story to end. It felt like a whole lot of build up, with a weak conclusion. Anyway, it wasn't awful, but not nearly as good as the first. The main characters started to grate against my nerves a bit, in some cases a whole lot. There were some inconsistencies in the story which definitely distracted.

Narration:
The casting for said narrators-a big fat ZERO stars. These 2 sound way too old to be reading teenage parts.

Rob Shaprio-3stars- this isn't his best reading, the female parts were a little awkward and his cadence was a little off.

Justine Eyre-1star-awful, just awful. Her voice is extremely raspy/shaky for most of it. Her male voices are always through clenched teeth, which in turn, makes them sound like they have a speech impediment. At one point, her voice for Luke had an accent for a sentence. Hunter's brother's voice sounds like he'd been smoking for a thousand years and had to have his larynx removed! There was a weird sort of Russian accent she gave to the leader of the Arum. Hunter had a southernish accent sometimes. There was no rhyme or reason for the accents.

Wow!

This series is so fluffing good! I loved the characters bore that i can explain. They are so well developed. Jennifer has this way of extracting all the emotion from you that she can so that you feel wholly invested in the book. I . Loved . It. I have read the whole series and can tell you it is one of my faves.

Who needs enemies when you have Katy around

I realize that I'm in the minority here with my feelings for this series. But you see, if you take out one part of the equation in the last three or so books and I would have really enjoyed them. The problem with that is, it's Katy. She's kind of a big part of this particular series, so yeah...

Daemon and his family are with the Luxen that have invaded. The Luxen that are the bad guys, the body snatchers and the ones trying to take over our planet. Not good, not good at all.

***Insert parts with Stupid Katy and the many times she just about kills everyone. Lots of eye rolls and general irritation. Just stop already. Let them kill her so the rest of the group survives, geez! I know, you can't do that. Like I said, she's a big part of this YA love story. Blah, blah, blah, they live happily ever after.***

The sad thing is, take Katy out and I enjoyed the rest of the story. I'm still beyond irritated with her or I could point out the good parts. It wasn't so bad and some of it was really good. I really liked the first couple of books but I'm so glad to have finished this series up. I just don't think I could go on with it.

Nerve- racking, incapable female reader

How could someone choose this horrible, nerve- racking, incapable female reader. It is a shame, because it distroyed the whole story and made it nearly impossible to listen. Justine Eyre is a absolute NO GO.

My favorite NA paranormal series

What did you love best about Opposition?

The plot and the characters. This is my favorite new adult paranormal series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Opposition?

There were so many in this book. But since I love angst it has to be the scene when Katy sees Daemon for the first time after he "followed" the Luxen.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Rob Shapiro did an amazing job. Very good.
However, Justine Eyre did an awful job. It sounded like she was grunting. Then when she did a male voice...they all sounded alike. It is as if she tried so hard to make her voice sound different. Sometimes she just sounded like someone who had been smoking for 50 years. She is going on my list of bad narrators.
I have a list of other female narrators that would have done an amazing job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At times. Depended on which scenes were being read.

Perfect ending to a great series!

This was the perfect ending to a great series. I thought it nicely tied up loose ends and left the whole series with a satisfying conclusion. Although I am sad to say good-bye to these characters I enjoyed the entire listen.

Made it through book 5

I was a completer hater through book 1 but obviously kept reading. This book was the perfect ending to the series. I will "miss" the characters...all of them! Especially LOVE daemon and his alpha male obnoxiousness! I didn't think I would make it through a 5 book series (3 is generally enough) but this completely kept my interest! So clearly I must've like it. Tons of action, love and everything else

Exceptional, one of the absolute best series....

I've ever read. I was enthralled from the first to the last book. Action packed, romantic, thoughtful, suspenseful, funny, just an all around great read!
