Publisher's summary

Izzy Sage should be on top of the world, but the revenant threat has her watching her back. Things only get worse when an oddball cult looking for a door to another world show up on Belle Isle and start circling the parking lot while demanding entrance to the other side.

Izzy is out of her league when it comes to dealing with the group - especially their charismatic leader who pushes all of her buttons - and when a body drops outside the aquarium, her suspicion is piqued.

As much as she wants to focus on the revenants, the cult has to take priority. The more Izzy digs, the more disturbing information she finds. It seems at least one member has ties to Paris’ past and another cult run amok...and further ties just might lead to the current threat hanging over the reaper world’s heads.

Death is basically knocking on the door between worlds and it’s anybody’s guess who will answer.

That all pales in comparison to the bigger news. The Grimlock grandparents, Emmet and Mary, have arrived in Detroit...and they’re not happy. They have plans for each Grimlock - and their significant others - and they refuse to back down.

It’s utter chaos in the reaper world, and there’s trouble at every turn. Izzy has to sort it all out...if she survives long enough to untangle an unsavory bundle of threads that lead to mayhem and destruction, that is.

A Roller Coaster Thrill Ride

In the latest book in the Death Gate Series, Ms Lee introduces us to the Grimlock grandparents, and boy, are they a couple of charmers. Lee seems to be channeling the late Robert Ludlum in this one: are you really sure who the good guys are? Are you really?? This one will keep you on the edge of your seats until the very end! I have only one criticism: are we really any closer to finding out what really happened to Izzy’s parents all those years ago? Don’t you dare miss this one!

Love this book

I like that I don't lose the Grimlocks that I loved. Getting a storyline that includes my favorite reaping family is awesome. Izzy's storyline is its own but I love her interactions with the family especially baby Lily.

Great new story but...

I love this author and most of her series. Unfortunately, this story was heavily dependent on characters and events that were from one of the ones I didn't like. I tried to read it but halfway into the second book I was so bored I had to give up.

Regardless of this, I love this series and am perfectly willing to sit through some Covenant college stuff in order to move forward in the Deathgate storyline.

Good story. I just wish it wasn't so dependent on another series.

Can’t go wrong!

This is such a good series. I had read/listened to the first three books and then ran out of books (that was all that had been published). I started them over again before getting to this one and the stories still hold up. In addition, references to Amanda M Lee’s other characters are made, giving this a “universe” feel.

Loved it!

I read the book on kindle unlimited when it first came out and I loved it so much I bought the audiobook to listen to on my commutes to and from work. The plot is interesting with surprising twists throughout that kept me on my toes. I totally recommend the audio version as well as the book. The great narrator only made the book even better!

Great book hard to put down

Amanda M Lee is a new all time favorite author. She has a way of drawing you into a book and getting your feeling involved. I can't wait to read the next one in this series. I love the Grimlock's and all of the other characters. I love how she gets other characters from other series into the mix. I have never laughed and cried reading a book as I have reading hers books. The only other Authors that have manged to do that are Nora Roberts, JD Robb, Catherine Coulter, and Richard H. Stephens. Would love to find more that can do that.

Izzy's Awesome!

This book was Great! Izzy's a truly a great character. The fact that we also have The Grimlocks too is just a huge bonus. The story starts with Izzy & Braden discussing the Grandparents visit. No-one is happy about that plus then the cult shows up in the parking lot of the aquarium all he'll brokes lose. Izzy's know something is coming. As always you have dinner and a show plus lots of lol moments. Fun read. About how good the story was. The narrator was wonderful brought you in made you feel like the you're right there with the characters wonderful. Can't wait for the next book I look forward to seeing all the interactions with the Covenant College it'll be wonderful.
