Lucinda is one of my favorite authors, she’s an auto buy for me but this wasn’t one of my favorite books. The ending felt rushed and without closure and I am a reader that really needs a HEA so without that, I’m always disappointed. There wasn’t really any twists, it kind of showed you who the “bad guy” was and that was it. Narrators were great and I liked the story, just not the ending.

Listening to the story rather than reading it felt like I was watching a movie, it helped build the story in my mind. So glad that I decided to listen to this book.

Not the direction I thought the book would go in but was still a wonderful book.

Not what I expected but still delivered.

It started out an interested storyline but then took a whole different track than i was expecting and the main character because just a side note. The main narrators was quite raspy for my personal taste and the secondary was quite blunt and lacked emotion. The vengeance seemed quite severe given the purportrated crime. overall, I finished the book but it was my favorite from this author.

It was bound to happen that after 4 consecutive Lucinda Berry books that I loved that I would find one I didn’t appreciate as much. It reminded me of a Lifetime movie.

O. M. G. The end!!!! I cannot believe how amazing this author is. Every book is so well written, but this one had me hold my breath!

I was intrigued but nothing seems to follow and there are lots of loose ends so I’m confused? But it was fine I guess

ucinda Berry has a way of writing that just completely consumes you. My heart was pounding for a majority of this book, and I found myself frantically flipping through pages (or raising the percentage on my Kindle, lol) because I was so desperate to know what happened next. She is a master of the adrenaline-fueled psychological thriller, and this book is no exception. The plot twists were absolutely wild, and the characters were so well-developed and complex that I was completely invested in their journey.

My only critique, and the reason this is a 4-star and not a 5-star read for me, is that the ending felt too fast. The tension and buildup were phenomenal, and I was on the edge of my seat right up until the final pages. But then it felt like it wrapped up a bit too quickly. I wanted more—more detail, more time with the aftermath, more of a lingering conclusion that the rest of the book's intense pacing deserved.

Despite that, this is a fantastic read for anyone who loves high-stakes thrillers that keep you guessing. It's a testament to the author's skill that my biggest complaint is simply that I wanted more of her world. I highly recommend it
