Publisher's Summary

The dramatic story of the unlikely partnership that led to Hybrid Theory, the biggest-selling debut album of the 21st century.

From the unique perspective of the executive who discovered them, One Step Closer reveals how Brad Delson's college internship was a catalyst for a group of young musical visionaries, led by Mike Shinoda, which gave rise to a band that survived countless rejections, exceeded everyone's expectations but their own, and became the voice of a generation.

This against-all-odds story chronicles the early days of Linkin Park, from their first demo and Whisky a Go Go performance as Xero, through their tireless efforts to perfect their iconic sound and the discovery of Chester Bennington. Jeff Blue was there when no one else believed - first as their publisher, then as their A-and-R guy. This is his memoir of that incredible journey.

Riveting and inspiring, One Step Closer is a testament to perseverance, as well as a detailed behind-the-scenes account of the building of a dream and what it takes to make it.

Amazing inspiring story about our favorite nu metal band LP!

This book is an absolute MUST listen for all LP stans. This book gave me all the feels! This is an inspiring behind the scenes story of how the band and Jeff made it through all the incredibly difficult challenges & rejection they had to go through on their way to the top! If you want to take one step closer to getting to know all about LP on a more personal level, this is your book right here! I hope someone makes a movie out of this book ( like 8mile) someday because it would be an epic experience to see on screen with a freaking awesome soundtrack!

The ups and downs of the music industry

This book was an up close and personal account of the valleys and peaks not only with the industry but life. I laughed, cried, got angry and felt deep the struggles of depression and the effect it has on others around you.

Incredible!! And easy to listen to! Thank you!

Wow Honestly this is my first full audiobook that I have listen to. It kept my attention the entire time. It actually took two sessions of listening to it. I was addicted the entire time. It was well written and well spoken. I highly recommend everyone to listen or read this book even if you don’t know who Linkin Park is.

Great story uncovering lots of industry practices as well as some incredible anecdotes for fans of the band

A very well written book filled with to the point but very informative accounts of the actions that led Linkin Park to global success in their formative years. The audiobook is presented excellently by Jeff. Standout effort and very entertaining! As a life long fan of the band since Hybrid Theory (released when I was 6 years old!) this book has been eye opening to many things I though I knew about the band. You will not regret checking it out!
