The very best explanation of gerrymandering and the harm it does to our democracy. Highly recommend!

Meticulous history of gerrymandering

Narration does not shine but is acceptable.

For those deeply interested in gerrymandering, this listen is appropriate, although they would probably be better off reading hard copy.

For someone, however, who wants a less dense, less detailed treatment of gerrymandering, a much briefer, less sophisticated treatment is preferable.

Who knew gerrymandering had such a long and storied history

Anyone passionate about preserving our democratic system needs to listen to this book to get a full picture of the scope of machinations politicians have done over the years to rig the system. And to be able to avoid those pitfalls moving forward. A “must listen”

Excellent

Excellent review of gerrymandering in American politics. The author does an admirable job of explaining the long and sordid history of the phenomenon, dating to the colonial era and tracing key events, elections and court cases up to the present day. Ultimately he places the blame on the courts, and specifically the Supreme Court, for its failure to address the issue in a serious manner. The book is not densely academic, but framed more as a readable history, quite accessible to laypersons. A terrific and informative read.
