A good review to answer how we got here

This is a good review to show how bad or improper actions will have serious consequences in following years. This book explains when bad politicians are allowed a platform then later there are more difficult challenges to the core of democracy. This book should become a film documentary for a wider audience to understand who are/were our elected officials.

Connecting the Dots

This mandatory reading for all those who want to understand how we got to the politics of hate. I am 74 years old. I lived through all the sign post Milbank covers. I really needed someone to connect the dots for me…he did just that. I am greatly indebted to him!

Meticulously researched, this will anger, horrify, and terrify you. A "must" read. Please read it before you vote.

Great Summary

Nothing new in Dana's book, but it provides a great summary of where we are as a nation. It's a cold bucket of water on the head to hear such a point by point review of where the GOP is today.

This book pulled everything out of my memory and put it together to make it make sense.

Learned things

Informative, nicely narrated. Have to admit my brain started to zone out when the author listed the many offenses, hypocrisy, and unabashed nastiness that's become the not so new normal by so many "leaders". I consider myself a conservative but am disillusioned by the Republican party. It's very disappointing that the extremists get all the attention and the old school people that know how to get things accomplished, and have genuine good intentions, get attacked. Makes one want stick their head in the sand but that's not an option for folks that love their children.

Wake up Americans

Great read. Presentation of historical events and facts should make it easy to understand what has happened to the GOP. The Republican Party has become a white nationalist party. But it’s the individuals’ of this party that have put power over our Constitution. A must read!

this should be handed out to every individual that is a registered Republican. it should be required reading so that we don't forget what democracy actually is. And just how close we were to losing everything

A sad time in our history

I always wait for "Audible hopes you have enjoyed this program," and I usually say, "Yes, yes I did," but not this time. "...appreciate..." would be more accurate. Thank you, Dana, for putting it all in one book.

Very Scary

The MAGA Trump GOP has evolved over decades to end our Democratic Republic into an autocratic one party dictatorship based on lies. With the Supreme Court taking away our right to vote the MAGA nuts are closer than ever to their FASCIST agenda. the whole sorted effort is expertly exposed in this very fine book.
