Publisher's Summary

My story is not about my past, but about your future, says Marie Roberts Monville. In the startling tragedy of the Amish schoolhouse shooting at Nickel Mines, one story has never been told; Marie Roberts Monville, the wife of the man who created such horror, tells her story for the very first time. It is a story of sorrow and destruction, but also one of majestic deliverance, unending compassion, breathtaking forgiveness, and grace-filled redemption. Within a solitary moment, Marie Monville realized that life, as she knew it, was over. What she never anticipated was a tangible encounter with God reaching into her circumstances, through them rewriting all she believed about herself, her faith, and the God she thought she knew.

One Light Still Shines reveals three love stories: the innocent love of a devoted wife for a husband in pain, the incomprehensible love of God in the aftermath of massacre and destruction, and the redemptive love of Christ, waiting to unfold in the life of every person who reads this book. Marie's journey since that darkest of days has been invaded with light which shines through these pages into the darkest questions we all face - questions about our past, our value, our identity, and own powerlessness in this fallen world. Come face to face with the power behind every answer - a love that begs to be received.

its no 4th of July fireworks

the first 2/3 was decent, it's the last 1/3 that had me using the 30 sec fast- forward button.
it's her "falling in love" in a mere 2 months after her husband's death is what initially brought my eyes rolling. the teenage Amish love story rhetoric that followed really got me.
she's adamant on trying to get the reader to believe she in no way was looking to start a relationship. in Marie's needy state, she dates the 1st man to come along and marriage follows within 1/2 year. I'd advise no love interest around the kids for a few yrs but a man at her side is all she knows and apparently no one guides her otherwise. In her defense, God told her to be with this man. it brought me to a story in my own life when a girlfriend tells me God told her we are to marry. "I'll get back to you when he lets me know also."
started off fine but no grand finale, I suppose The writings would suit a woman reader more.
