Publisher's summary

*My name is Ellis DeAngelo.* I tend to get caught in the midst of trouble quite often. I'm an unlucky guy, but fortunate to have friends to help me out. These aren't the memoirs of a geisha you'll be hearing. And most definitely not some soul-searching discovery that depicts eating, praying, and loving. This is so much better...or worse, depending on your perspective.

*To sum up: I think I'm going to die.* Not of old age, mind you, or in a tragic accident. My boss is trying to kill me. It all starts when I'm....

You don't really think I'm going into all the details now, do you? I mean, come on - look at the size of the space I'm provided here. I couldn't possibly cover everything in such a small area. That's what the audiobook is for. Start listening!

Entertaining!

Three reasons why you need to listen to this book:

1. It's fun! Three college guys blunder through the events of the story like the Tarot Fool, running into trouble but still managing to get out of it somehow. There's danger, action and a roommate from hell. You can't go wrong with that :D

2. It's written by Timothy Dalton. No, not the James Bond Timothy Dalton - but this one is also pretty good at what he does. His characters are relatable, and even the most annoying ones have redeemable qualities. I'm looking at you, Chester!

3. Jeff Hays rocks. I heard him narrating before, and it's a pleasure every time. I believed his Ellis completely.

Give this a listen, folks. You'll find yourselves thoroughly entertained.

Great Audiobook for Quick Laughs

Where does On the Hit List rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

For easy listening comedy book this would definitely be in the top 10 books I have listened too. The book has a great performance and the voice really brings you into the story.

What other book might you compare On the Hit List to and why?

I can't I have not listened to a book like this before. I am new to audiobooks.

Which scene was your favorite?

Definitely when they go on the hunt for the crooked cop. Super funny!

If you could take any character from On the Hit List out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Definitely the main character, he seems funny enough to keep me entertained but not too stupid to make me annoyed.

This book is hi-larious.

Well, that was fun!
It's not super complicated (and not in a bad way. It's not super predictable or anything). Basically, a college kid inadvertently gets involved with the mafia. Shenanigans ensue. Hilarious shenanigans.

This book is really funny. It's short, fast paced, full of movie, book, and other pop culture references, breaks the fourth wall in a really funny way, and it is absolutely chock full of lols. I definitely know a Chester in real life. I also love how the cover has him wearing socks with sandals. Because of course he would. Of course.

Jeff Hays is the actual perfect narrator for this. It wasn't just him telling the story, he *became* Ellis. He told Ellis' story very, very well.

This is a great, fun use of 4 and a half hours. :)

#lovedit (Yep. That just happened.)

On the Hit List
: Timothy Dalton

This is ultimately the funniest novel I've listened to today, or right up there in a very long time. What happens when college roommates unintentionally get mixed up with the mob. Each of the guys unique personalities take the story along a twisty path. I want more of these characters.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Jeff Hays was fabulous at telling this story.

Delivering pizza can be hazardous to your health.

I had a hard time staying with these characters and their dialogue. Is "Valley Boys" a term? The story was pretty good-- I think my age had something to do with not enjoying their dialogue.

Such an entertaining listen!!!

Any additional comments?

I connected with this listen right away! It was light-hearted and witty and had the best marriage of story and narrator. I had a constant smile on my face. And those pop references just killed me!!!

The narrator stole the show! He put the perfect spin on the unflappable main character, Ellis, and with tongue firmly planted in cheek, delivered an incredible sampling of teens, mafia types and even a Black nurse.

I will look for more from this author and this narrator and count it as a major victory if they've teamed up again.

this is a short fast paced story. its 4 hours long.. ( short for me)
it is also funny, and will have you laughing out loud in some spots.
very light hearted. well I think its more in the way its written, not so much the subject matter.
