A fascinating and thorough review

If you want to learn about political philosophy and political history in the West, you should probably read this book. It’s fair, thorough, and very interesting. For non history buffs (such as myself), it can be a little hard to follow at certain points. Nevertheless, it’s a great lay introduction to the history of political thought.

this author doesn't tell you what thinkers thought but what they meant! half of the book is the author's own musings about the authors' life or thoughts. this is not a serious book.
