Publisher's summary

Alexis Monroe and Jaceon Palmer were college sweethearts. They’d planned their lives and were set to get married until Jaceon reveals a change in the plans they had for the future. Hit with the devastating blow that he no longer wants children, Alexis breaks things off.

Years later, she is married with a beautiful daughter and pregnant with her son. Tragedy strikes when her husband is killed in an unsolved hit-and-run accident. After struggling through her pregnancy and dealing with her grief for a year, Alexis realizes she needs help. She, her four-year-old daughter, and her six-month-old son have returned home to live with her parents while Alexis gets herself together. For Alexis, the move to heal current wounds leads to the opening of old ones.

When Jaceon crosses paths with the once love of his life, every feeling he thought he buried comes right back to the surface. Realizing that he made a grave mistake has him jumping through hoops to rekindle what he’d foolishly lost. Still fresh with heartbreak, Alexis is forced to deal with the feelings she ran from all those years ago when close proximity continuously lands her and Jaceon in familiar spaces.

Will she give in to the reemergence of past feelings, or does the timing prove to be too much for the once couple to handle?

I love the way the author weaved the story. It shows how love can truly stand the test of time when it’s real. A good read/listen.

Second Chance Romance Well Deserved!

I am loving the work by Kimberly Brown; she has the best romance stories (of those I've listened to thus far). The narrators did a very good job. I loved the rendition of the baby girl. Although it was sad for Alexis to lose her mate, it opened up an opportunity for her to rekindle her first love. For Jason, unfortunately, he had a marriage that fell on a lie and infidelity, he was given a second chance he never knew he would get. Jason knew he wasn't going to mess up that opportunity. It was at the right time, because although he always wanted Alexis, he was ready to give her more and what she wanted. I could understand Alexis' apprehension, because not only did she have to consider her heart, but those of her children. I know they were happy to be where they always should have been. It was very respectful of Jason to apologize for his fault with his ex-wife and to be considerate of the man/father/husband of Alexis (Gary) prior to and in their union. That's a real man!
