Stiff reader ruins the book

What didn’t you like about Alex Barrett’s performance?

The reader was so wooden or stiff that I couldn't finish the book.

Not on audible. The story was okay but the narration totally ruined it for me.

I would like to see what happens to some of the characters but I won't buy it if it is narrated by the same person.

Could have been great

In the Northern Rebel, the story could have been great had I been able to get past the narrator. She sounded like a computer recording, each and every word was very enunciated. The only time that she sounded half way normal was when she spoke in the different people's voices.
I'm tempted to stop listening to this book and just read it as the story line seems great.
