No doubt, the punishing cold for these people of Northern Europe helped to dispel any complacency they may have felt during the warmer, mid-Holocene epoch. Death was sitting on their doorstep, and the weak and timid would have died from the change in climate. Only the strong and cunning would survive.

This audio book provides a dictionary-type approach to introducing the various individuals, themes, and areas of Norse myth. These are especially helpful when addressing more complex topics in the myths because the analysis tends to be a scholar's digest of what is known.

Wonderful interpretation and in-depth discussions on the research going into the creation of the book. The book contains lots of Norse stories and religious information. It is indeed an interesting collection and I would saw "a must" for anyone studying Norse, Viking, or Norse Mythology.

This is a good encyclopedia of Norse mythology. The opening sections are a nice overview of Norse history and theories. It also has a great appendix explaining what are the best standard books in this field.
