This guide succeeds in presenting an overall sketch of the creation of the world and the battles that follow, resulting in Zeus taking his place as the supreme god and ruling the earth from Mount Olympus. It covers the creation of man, it seems as a bit of an afterthought for the amusement of the Olympians, and some of the most famous stories that have come down to us via the writings of the great dramatists of the Classical Age.

The saga of the Vikings rises and falls on the banks of history, ebbing and flowing with popular opinion and whimsical anecdotes. The Vikings are routinely typecast and labeled anywhere from bloodthirsty tyrants to valiant heroes. They have been condemned as pirates and praised as explorers. We have all heard the stories of the fierce warriors with long ships and horned helmets storming onto the shores of medieval Europe - but who were these men really?

Whether you approve or disapprove, globalization is an inescapable feature of the modern world. Trade between nations and continents is now commonplace, and this exchange of goods is inevitably accompanied by the exchange of ideas and cultures. This is not, as you might expect, a new phenomenon. A series of trade routes which were first established almost 2,000 years ago provided one of the first examples of intercontinental trade.

The Hittites lived among gods and kings and captivated the mysterious Sir Lawrence of Arabia, among many eager minds. Who were they? Simply warlike conquerors on a mission to impose Hittite power on the world? How did they become part of the elite highly-exclusive club of kings as great as Egyptian, Assyrian, and Babylonian empires of the second millennium BCE? They created a complex system of collective governance and changed the metallurgy of the ancient world. This mysterious empire remained the unknown fourth empire and thanks to their tradition of preservation we continue solving mysteries buried in their ancient past.

The Industrial Revolution, which took place in Great Britain between the middle of the 18th century and the middle of the 19th, transformed British industry and society and made Great Britain the most powerful nation in the world. The Industrial Revolution didn’t happen due to one, single factor but rather to a number of separate, yet, related developments which interacted to change the world profoundly and completely. Improvements in the production of iron allowed the construction of efficient, reliable steam engines.

But who was William Wallace? What separates the real man from the myth?

Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Eight hundred years ago, an heir to the Vikings collected their myths and wrote them down. Here are those original tales of Odin and Thor, magic and might, presented for your listening enjoyment. The Prose Edda (also known as Snorri's Edda or The Younger Edda) is a manual of poetics written by Snorri Sturluson around the year 1220. In it, Snorri compiled the old myths and legends of the Norsemen, in order that poets from his time might draw on these stories to keep the Icelandic-Viking heritage alive.

The Ásatrú faith gives its practitioners a wide margin when it comes to observing the faith, its rituals, and its practices. As you are solely responsible for your own spiritual development, figuring out how to begin your journey can be challenging. Norse Paganism for Beginners aims to help those who are new to the faith gain the basic knowledge they need to walk the path of Ásatrú.

Too much paganism nonsense/overt evangelism‼️
The work here is obsessed with silly neo-Paganism; seems vainly to attempt reviving rightly long dead Norse and Teutonic belief systems. (Which Adolf Hitler and followers were also weirdly obsessed with. ) Most importantly, to get a more realistic view of basic Norse belief and the core of the real Mythologies, I strongly suggest the eBook & excellent Audiobook entitled, “Norse Mythology.” The book is available on Amazon (Kindle eBooks) & Audible together.
The Mythic words of the “gods” themselves, provide an excellent view of how both graceless and hard-hearted, if not something like evil, all the leading personalities of most Norse gods, sadly were. Moreover, it is quite amazing to me that these grave, clueless, mean-spirited “gods” were ever actually sincerely worshiped — and are again in our badly educated and non-compassionate Modern peoples. Also, the magnum opus, “Norse Mythology” is entirely based from actual Edda texts/documents and contain most important details and insights. Specifically, my takeaway from all the stories are that I feel Loki is very complicated — and misunderstood; he is often rightly deeply critical of the Æsir as a whole, whom he undiplomatically points out are each far from virtuous paragons nor kind; they show an overt and pathetic cruelty toward Loki himself and especially to his completely innocent children, whom were all quite blameless and certainly not in the slightest worthy of the horrible, mean-spirited ridicule and horrific deaths given by the “Noble” gods. Moreover, I was angriest about the ill-treatment of Fenrir, the giant-sized wolf whom showed every indication of being faithful and quite obviously could have made all the difference to the aesir gods at the great final battle. Not to mention what seemed as a most unwise provocation of Loki himself, whom again, could easily have made all the difference at when the end-time battle came. More importantly, there was absolutely nothing Loki said (crossly) about the gods which was not spot-on; all harmful actions on his part could most easily have been reversed had the aesir gods not been so short-sighted and unforgiving. Yet the “wise” gods always chose to make things far, far worse for themselves had they not been so very haughty, emotionally constipated, and recklessly proud. —Thor and his dad Odin, both drove me crazy — by being so consistently irksome, deaf, blind & profoundly stupid!
Regarding Paganism itself, it does not belong here in this AudioEbook. Mostly, it is so COMPLETELY like ALL other worthless organized RELIGIONS — in the words of the Dali Lama himself — are without exception, each horribly lacking in the very same thing, be they Christian, Jew, Mohammedan, Buddhist, Hindu or NeoPagan: They every one, most sorely lack any real sense (or basis) in any REAL, CONSISTENT human COMPASSION‼️ More to the point, •ALL• organized religions, to quote Shakespeare’s Prince, at the tragic end of Romeo & Juliet, bellows in righteous indignation, “ALL! — ALL ARE PUNISHÉD!” —Or moreover, certainly deserve to be so.
As the Dali Lama points out, It seems supremely manifest that all organized religious organizations have completely lost sight of what is both truly Good and Wise — and should be at the heart of ANY religion: Compassion‼️ It’s NOT about what’s “cool” nor exotic, nor entertaining.
🗝True Wisdom, found in all Great Mythologies, seems obviously to be, “Choose Life!” —Yet, to do that, and fulfill, one must look within; find real, very deep Compassion for both ourselves —and one another.
‘Nuff said. Thanks. 🙏🏻 ☮️

It is a verifiable fact that the Apostle Paul was one of the most prolific writers of the New Testament, making him one of the founders of the Christian religion that we know today. Although he came on the scene after Jesus Christ, it could be argued that Saint Paul played the second biggest role in the history of Christianity. This is rather fascinating, considering the fact that he began his career as one of the biggest persecutors of the faith.

Nowhere was the influence of this radical new way of thinking more apparent than in France, and the upheaval this caused would come to bloody fruition in the form of revolution.

Discover the remarkable history of the Falklands War...The Falklands War, which erupted in 1982, was a conflict between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Argentina over sovereignty of the Falklands, a group of largely uninhabited islands in the South Atlantic. The islands had under two thousand inhabitants and little particular strategic or commercial importance when they became the object of the war. Still, disputes over whether these islands belonged to Great Britain or Argentina had been underway for many years.

Story
William Wallace; if ever there was a champion in the annals of Scottish history, he was it. Known as a proud Scot who rose through the ranks to challenge the English king, Wallace was a mere man who became larger than life - large enough even for the likes of Mel Gibson to play him in Braveheart for movie-going audiences on the silver screen. But who was William Wallace? What separates the real man from the myth?

Story
The Roman Catholic Inquisition was one of the most controversial organizations in human history. Although it has been painted in a negative light, the Inquisition was too broad in scope to define as simply good or bad. It was a period where conflict and bloodshed were inevitable. It was a time where war, famine, plague, and poverty were common factors of human life. From the 1180s to the 1830s, the Inquisition was the judicial arm of the Catholic Church. Created to root out and punish heretics within the Catholic faith, the Inquisition became an institution that would carve its name into history.

Mary Baker Eddy stands unique in our collective remembrances of supposed prophets of the bygone past. She was a girl that quite literally felt a calling at an early age when she thought she heard a supernatural voice call her name. Shortly thereafter, she was intermittently beset with chronic illnesses and remarkable bouts of healing. Whether or not you believe her claims of healing and divine intervention, the story of Mary Baker Eddy, founder of the Church of Christ, Scientist, is a riveting one all the same.

Story
In the early 1800s, the five civilized tribes - the Cherokee, Seminole, Chickasaw, Muscogee-Creek, and Choctaw - were living in lands allocated to them by the United States government in present-day Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. In general, the Native American people lived in peace with the increasing numbers of white settlers coming to these areas, though there were occasional conflicts as settlers took lands that belonged to the tribes.

Story
Saint Peter, also known as Peter the Apostle, was one of the main figures of the early Christian Church. He began his life as a simple fisherman who caught fish in the Sea of Galilea, but one day, this fisherman became a “fisher of men” instead. In good time, he would help to form one of the largest religious movements the world had ever known, eventually giving his life to the cause when he was sentenced to death by crucifixion. Here, in this audiobook, we discover the life of Saint Peter from beginning to end.

Story
Though the world came to know of the Norse and their legends through Roman interaction at about the time of Christ, most of what we came to know were handed-down from folk tales gathered by native writers like Snorri Sturluson (c. 1179 - 1241). This was from a time when the Norse had already been converted to Christianity.

Story
Seeing how it doesn’t have a set doctrine or dogma, there is no way to best practice Norse paganism. There is also no scripture or a “holy book”, which makes it ideal for people who wish to feel free and authentic to themselves while practicing spirituality. The way Norse paganism is practiced vastly varies from region to region, and there is no “correct” way to practice it. However, it still involves adhering to some tenets, customs, and beliefs. This book offers a comprehensive exploration of modern Norse paganism.

Story
The truth is that most media representations of Norse and Celtic times are based on fiction with a smattering of truth and are embellished with a healthy dose of imagination. There are very few written accounts from these societies because the information was passed on by word of mouth. Stories were handed down through the generations and became the sagas we know today but how much of that information is accurate is debatable.
