  • Why Saying No Isn’t Selfish: Boundaries, Burnout & Finding Yourself with Arielle Estoria
    Aug 26 2026

Have you ever felt guilty for saying no?

For many of us, being “the helpful one” becomes part of our identity. We answer every call, solve every problem, and put everyone else’s needs ahead of our own—until we’re exhausted.

In this episode, Francesca sits down with poet and bestselling author Arielle Estoria to explore what happens when we stop believing our worth is measured by how much we sacrifice.

Together, they discuss people pleasing, boundaries, transactional friendships, burnout, identity, and why self-preservation isn’t selfish.

If you’ve ever struggled to choose yourself without guilt, this conversation is for you.

  • Why Kids Stop Talking to Their Parents and How We Can Change That | John Trautwein
    Aug 19 2026

Most parents would do anything for their child. But what happens when love isn’t the same as feeling understood?

In this episode of Normalize the Conversation, Francesca Reicherter sits down with John Trautwein, founder of the Will to Live Foundation, whose 15-year-old son, Will, died by suicide.

Through remarkable honesty, John shares what he wishes he had known before losing his son—and how that experience transformed the way he approaches parenting, communication, and mental health.

    Together, Francesca and John discuss:

    • Why children often stop sharing what they’re really feeling
    • How validation can be more powerful than fixing the problem
    • The importance of asking better questions
    • Why peers and “life teammates” play a critical role in mental wellness
    • How parents can create conversations that reduce shame and isolation
    • Small acts of connection that can make a lasting difference
    • Why talking about depression and suicide doesn’t create risk—it creates opportunity for support

Francesca also shares her own lived experience with depression and the moments that helped her survive, making this conversation deeply personal while offering practical guidance for families, educators, coaches, and anyone who wants to better support the people they love.

  • Speaking Up Has a Cost: Grief, Misinformation & Mental Health with Rooshan Alam
    Aug 12 2026

What happens when speaking up about mental health puts you at risk?

In this episode of Normalize The Conversation, Francesca Reicherter sits down with psychologist and mental health advocate Rooshan Alam, based in Pakistan, to talk about grief, mental health misinformation, online harassment, misogyny, and what it means to use your voice when speaking up comes with a personal cost.

Rooshan shares why grief isn’t limited to losing someone to death. We talk about grieving friendships, relationships, identity, and the versions of ourselves we leave behind as we grow and change. We also explore how stigma can make it harder to sit with difficult emotions and seek the support we need.

The conversation then turns to mental health misinformation online, including harmful beliefs about therapy, medication, vaccines, and mental health treatment. Rooshan explains why misinformation can have real consequences—and why correcting it can sometimes make the person speaking up a target.

She also opens up about experiencing online harassment and threats as a woman speaking publicly about mental health in Pakistan, while sharing the moments that remind her why she continues her advocacy.

Most importantly, this conversation is about finding ways to make a difference without sacrificing your safety. Whether that means publicly speaking out, sharing accurate information, supporting someone else, or simply taking one small action in your own community, advocacy doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.

If you’ve experienced grief, felt overwhelmed by conflicting mental health information online, or wondered whether your voice can actually make a difference, this episode is for you.

    Topics include:

    • Grief beyond death and loss
    • Identity grief and personal growth
    • Mental health stigma
    • Therapy and medication misinformation
    • Social media and mental health
    • Women’s mental health and online harassment
    • Advocacy and speaking up
    • Small actions that create change
    • Hope and resilience
