Nonsense with cj little & Jeff Parker

By: cj little and Jeff Parker
  • Summary

  • Nonsense desperately tries to make sense of today’s business, technology, and (sometimes) entertainment headlines. Not too serious and occasionally funny, join technologist cj little and leggy blonde Jeff Parker for their unique take on the past week. While we can’t promise you’ll laugh every week, we can promise you’ll learn something new (and maybe even interesting) New episodes drop every Thursday morning (UTC). Produced by an orangutan; art thanks to artificial intelligence. https://nonsense.productions Twitter: @nnsnspdcst Instagram: @nnsnspdcst Gmail: nnsnspdcst@gmail.com

You might want to reconsider what you ask your personal, virtual assistant to “just do” for you. As the boys discuss in this week’s episode, sometimes your well-meaning Siri can just get it plain wrong - or in cj’s case, plane wrong! We suspect this “Siri poisoning” will continue to be a thing, just like the DNS poisoning of yesteryear, and the more current AI poisoning plaguing training data today.

But before Jeff gets a chance to revel in cj’s naivety, the boys discuss more FCC fines (yay!), Dorsey leaving Bluesky (meh), and TikTok suing the US to prevent their sale-or-ban future (boo!).

And ferrous friendly letters, whatever that means!

Do it today; you can thank us later! And in the spirit of improving security, today the boys provide some color on some of those phishing messages you’ve been getting day in and day out. As you likely already know empirically, the good ol’ USPS brand has rocketed itself to the top of the list of brands most phished. In this episode, you’ll hear a bit about what’s going on, why this has happened, and what you can do to avoid being taken advantage of. But ahead of that, the headlines of the week include: China’s continuously improving EVs; Apple being required by the EU to open iPadOS to sideloading within 6 months; and Google laying off staff from Flutter, Dart and Python teams.
