Publisher's summary

When Victor is called to meet with an old friend who ultimately betrayed him, what he thought was an ambush is in fact a plea for help. As a Russian gangster, Norimov is accustomed to death threats, but now an unknown enemy wants more than his life. They intend to kill everyone he cares about, including his missing daughter Gisele. This time, Victor's job is not to kill but to protect. Unfortunately, locating Gisele is his first mistake - because someone is watching his every move.

Before she went into hiding, Gisele had uncovered a secret worth killing for - and now Victor has brought the enemy right to her doorstep. The least he can do is help her escape. But the ruthless network they're up against has the police, MI-5, and every major news outlet joining in the manhunt across London.

You are all crazy - And here is why.

This is the problem with books that run in series, and people that fall in love with an Author and or the character. They can't differentiate between the good and the bad, and they will write reviews based off feelings based off past experiences... I liked the first 2 books - I really liked the 3rd... I didn't drink the Koolaid though - So I will say without a doubt - This book stunk. The only constantly good thing was Rob Shapiro. The Story line was horrible, and there was no suspense to it... The bad lady went through hell and back again to kill someone that didn't have a clue about anything. Really??? A S@#t load of mercenaries to find one girl....... Lets not leave out the fact that the dialog and interaction between our favorite assassin and the girl was terrible... So much about nothing... I wasn't drawn in or intrigued at any point in time. I hate to say it - Because I am Anti Grey Man - But this felt very similar to that kind of novel... No substance - No mystery - No quality assassin work. Also - Lets put an ad in the paper for the worlds top assassin - As anyone can find them... I'm telling you - If they left the country and hid in a cave like Osama did. I still had the feeling like they would get conveniently found. It's almost Voodoish anymore in some books. If you see a squirrel and a rabbit in the same day - Then they must be in hidding in the hotel across the street... I purchased this book based off my past experiences. I wrote this review based off my current experience.

For what it's worth... J

Wood's Dunnit Again! 15 Stars!

"Crackle!"

That's the sound of a micro mystery breaking open. Victor the Assassin faces a macro mystery in each book... A job that's seriously impossible. But between the assignment and the conclusion... There's a carpet of pop-it beads that Victor's gotta' walk... Each one a devilish threat to his life, and each larger than the last. And each's gotta' be stomped on the way to the other end.

And so these books CRACKLE! Each pop-it is a cliff hanger that keeps me in the car... In the driveway... Holds me to a chore, keeps me on the treadmill... And speaking of devilish... Rob Shapiro has a simmering voice that's like a soundtrack of distant drums... Menacingly pounding out a rhythm of sometimes dread, sometime awe, all the time tension.

Wood is a clever story teller with plot lines that tie together action explosions that frequently come from Tom-Clancy-like detailed gear.

Yep, I liked "No Tomorrow" enough to warn you NOT TO BUY OR LISTEN TO THIS BOOK unless you started the series at the beginning with "The Killer". Why suffer spoiler alerts as Victor the Assassin grows with each new installment. Wood's is our Ian Fleming, only wonderfully darker and not as absurd... Well, not quite :-)

These books... They CRACKLE!

Victor is still the top Assassin!

Have you listened to any of Rob Shapiro’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I really like Rob Shapiro doing Victor. I have looked for other books but he doesn't have many. Would like to see him narrating more mysteries and suspense.

Any additional comments?

This is a really good Victor book. It is fast paced with plenty of heart pounding edge of your seat moments through out the story. I was a little disappointed that it didn't pick up where the last book left off but this was a complete story on its own. The book goes full circle from beginning to end, I won't say how because I don't want to spoil it for anyone but the conclusion leaves your jaw dropped. I actually had to go back and listen to it a second time not sure I had heard it correctly. So now the door is open for a follow up to either book 3 or 4, or maybe Tom Wood will figure outhow to pull them all together, either way I am looking forward to the next This book is worth your time and credit!

Continuous Action Without Feeling Forced

First, I think Rob Shapiro does an absolutely wonderful job narrating the Victor novels. While I wouldn't know a British accent from an Austrian, or a Russian he does them differently enough that they are believable. And he does a decent female voice. Second, I do enjoy the Victor series and this book is another great installment in the adventure. Tom Wood keeps the action going nonstop but without making it feel forced or contrived as some espionage authors or books feel. The scenes and action flow seamlessly and continuously throughout the novel making it near impossible to stop reading/listening to. As others have said it seems hard to root for an assassin or even like one, but Victor, like the Grey Man Court Gentry, are assassins we can root for. I can’t wait for the next in this series.

I love listening to this series!

No Tomorrow is my favorite of the six novels in the Victor the Assassin series. Victor's job in this novel is to protect, for money of course, rather than to kill. The man he's protecting is rather evil, but that's okay with Victor. But he must kill to protect.

Tom Wood writes books that are impossible to put down and having Rob Shapiro narrate means listening should start early in the day to avoid staying up all night. This novel is the perfect fix for an action and suspense junkie.

Who better than Victor to protect someone?

When an old acquaintance needs to protect his daughter he reaches out to Victor. Victor has his reasons for saying yes despite their past. Victor does an admirable job of staying off a kill team's radar; if not for governmental help for the bad guys, they would be fine. As it turns out Victor and the girl need his escape & evasion, and ultimately combat skills. The repartee is not alway great but the overall story is still good. I enjoy the multiple plot threads, twists, and little details that Tom Wood puts into his stories, they reward a re-listen. As for the main character, we glimpse some of Victor's interesting backstory. We also see a bit of character growth in Victor's willingness to help someone who betrayed him in the past. He also affords adversaries the opportunity (if they are worthy) to walk away not that they always take him up on it. It's not much but it's something. I have to say, I like The Killer the most, but No Tomorrow is well worth a listen. Rob Shapiro's narration is first rate. I am anxiously waiting for the next Audible installment in this series.

Can't get enough

Where does No Tomorrow rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

If you like non-cartoonish spy thrillers, you'll love the Victor the Assassin series. Period.

None stop action!

This story keeps you on the edge of your seat from the opening bell! Great story, great performance, even on the second listen, which this was for me.

Gotta keep up with Victor but...

Any additional comments?

This book was less plausible than the others in the series and I loathed the character Giselle. The interaction between Victor and Giselle was nonsensical and contrived. The Victor series is strong but this is the weakest offering in the bunch. Still a fan and I still would pay money for this book and whatever comes after, which I guess is all that matters...

Victor is back!!!

What made the experience of listening to No Tomorrow the most enjoyable?

The amazing Rob Shapiro. He narrates this and all the other books in the series perfectly. He is so......Victor!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of No Tomorrow?

The end..... Don't want to spoil it for anyone but it was enjoyable. Just when you think the book is over Tom Wood throws us another bone. Lol.

Have you listened to any of Rob Shapiro’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes!! This is just as good as the other books he narrated. The story was not as great and Wood kind of glossed over some parts making it less believable but overall it was an amazing book with a great performance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!!! But my girlfriend wouldn't let me. Lol!!! She says I disconnect from her when Im listening to it.

Any additional comments?

Yes. More, more, more,more,more !!!!!
