Publisher's summary

As if bloodsuckers weren't frightening enough...whatever killed these people consumed their souls...leaving their bodies completely unscathed.

The victims had only one thing in common: They were all attacked at my club. But when you mess with my fans, Nicky's fans...well, you'll unleash Nyx and soon regret it.

The Grimoire of the Nazarene is still missing. If the Order of the Morning Dawn finds it first, Mina will unleash a legion of angels to wipe out everything she deems unnatural: vampires, witches, me...and good people like me, people in my community.

Is there a connection between these killings and the missing grimoire? I have reason to believe it's all connected.

With every body that turns up at my club, I suspect that Mina gets a little closer to acquiring the Grimoire of the Nazarene and ending us all.

A great read and listen.

This book in the series certainly had Nix stymied as she tried to resolve mysterious deaths and the portent of her dreams. There is plenty of action and I loved the characters. I liked the addition of male voices for the male parts. However, there were several places in the narration where the narrator repeated the same sentence. Overall, this was a great listen.

Nicky

This series only gets better with each book. The humor of Nicky and the other characters has you wanting to see what they are going to say next.

Great book

Loved the characters. They are quite exciting and make the book. The narrator did a good job bringing them to life. The storyline was exciting and interesting. The narrator did it justice and kept me interested in the way they used their voice to pull me in and keep me going for the story. The book has good world building and overall good everything. The author provided me a promo for this book and this is my honest review.

urban fantasy fun

Each book gets better. The characters were even more robust and the action was great. The narrators were my favorite, so far of the three audiobooks. I enjoyed the sly humor and can't wait to find out what happens next.

A most enjoyable read/listen

No Shift, Sherlock (The Legend of Nyx #3), my seventh read from author Theophilus Monroe. Well written & enjoyable read. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Kasey Logan & George Tait's narration adds to the enjoyment of the book. I look forward to4
Shift For Brains: A Zombie Hunter Urban Fantasy Action Adventure (The Legend of Nyx Book 4), the next book in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Entertaining Paranormal Fantasy

I enjoyed the third book in the series a lot. I am finding each book better than the one before it. I really liked the creative theme that ran through the pages of this story. The world building was extensive. The characters changed and evolved as the series progressed. The action was more intense. Kasey Logan's and George Tait's dual narrations enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Great series

I love Nicky and her chosen family. She’s such a strong woman and yet also has a good amount of vulnerability. I have loved getting to know Nicky and her friends. We’ve got magic that’s working strangely in this one and they all need to figure out what’s causing it.

Done!

I love LGBTQ stories and UF stories alike. I had high hopes for this series because it incorporated both and I love the author but ENOUGH already with the trans identity. Again, I got nothing against it but it's almost like the author was super proud of writing a trans character and decided to make sure we (the readers) understood the struggles the main character had with choosing to be trans in the LGBTQ community. Seriously it was like the author beat us over the head with it and then beat the dead horse. Every other sentence talked about being trans, the issues with make up and clothing, the problems she encountered as being trans and on and on. It overtook the story so much that when she started talking about putting makeup on in the car and that it's called "farting", I had had enough! I like character driven stories and don't care what the preference of the main character is as long as there's a good story behind it. Gay, straight, trans or pan..don't care. Give me a good story but this just didn't fit the bill. Any story (no matter the orientation of the main character) should not focus so much on what clothes and shoes you choose to ride on a motorcycle and how cute you look. Ugggggg, I honestly just didn't care about whatever the main story was anymore and probably won't continue with the rest of the series.
