Publisher's summary

Get ready to put your feet on the dash, turn up the music, and travel in a 1969 Mini Cooper with two witty, laugh out loud sisters in this romantic comedy. A heart-warming tale of misadventures, music, soul-searching, love, and a rescue dog named Lone-Lee.

Mar and Joan have always had an unbreakable bond. More than sisters, they are best friends. When a life-changing event tries to drag Joan down, her headstrong and playful little sister, Mar, comes to the rescue. The only cure - an epic road trip from California to New York. Along the way, Mar crosses paths with a charming man. Is he a reason, season, or a lifetime? Joan dares her to find out.

From a Napa wine tasting gone awry to a hunt for spirit animals, Mar’s appetite for mischief knows no bounds. It’s one uproarious adventure to the next with heartfelt moments of clarity in between.

A delightful mix between Notting Hill and Sisters. Hop in, grab your pretend microphone, and buckle up. Get ready to fall in love with Mar, Joan, and, of course, Lone-Lee.

Flashbacks

omgeeee, as I HEARD the story which I think it's better to HEAR the excitement, the details, emotions all of that than just reading. My Opinion
I loved that I can picture my memories in her eyes. If that makes any sense. Reliving those moments were truly awesome. She did an amazing job at capturing those memories and for the ones who didn't grow up in G-P... you can still visualize the place as they were details in her descriptions. It was 💜

The Chicken Nuggets...

No Alcohol Beyond This Point is a lighthearted treat. I’m still chuckling about ordering off of the children’s menu during a date. My plan was to listen to this book over two days. This book was so addictive that I listened to the entire book in one day. The book is well written & the narration is superb.

Fantastically Fun, Witty & Romantic

I, hands down, love this book! Mar and Joan’s sisterly bond is so strong it ran straight to my heart and will always have a place there. This book literally made me laugh out loud, cry, and smile with such heartwarming emotion I almost melted (okay, the last part isn’t literal, but still). If you enjoy romantic comedies, stop what you are doing and buy one now!

Humorous romantic comedy about sisters

No Alcohol Beyond This Point is a humorous romantic comedy about two sisters on a road trip.

After finding out her husband is cheating on her, Joan convinces her sister, Mar, to take a cross country road trip with her. Joan is trying to move on and Mar feels stuck with her life. It is so funny hearing about the funny things that happen to these sisters. Some of the situations Mar and Joan get themselves in I would never even think of. I was laughing throughout the book. Mar and Joan both find romantic interests and have to decide what they want to come out of that. Both are left to determine where their future will lead and both end up with possibilities they never would’ve imagined. No Alcohol is a reminder to road trips and fun times with family and friends. I highly recommend No Alcohol Beyond this Point for fans of Sophie Kinsella and romantic comedies.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Zura Johnson and she did a fantastic job. Johnson has the perfect voice for telling this entertaining story.

A Little too Perfect for Reality, but Cute Enough

This was a cute little romantic comedy. A little too perfect (cheating husband aside) in many ways, but "suspension of disbelief" and all that. Two sisters with a great relationship, great relationship with their parents, road trip - both happen to find super perfect guys even though they weren't even looking for that. Also a dog. Plenty of money and time and ability to pretty much live the dream, doing whatever they want. But it was cute and funny and a welcome shfit from the WW2 or dystopian/apocalyptic that is often on my TBR list of late.

Older protagonists, so a little more mature with the sexual situations (not Harlequin romance bodice ripper) and a little language. There was definitely alcohol ... ;)

I received a copy of the audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review. I really liked the narration, the narrator (Zura Johnson) was great, in enunciation, character voices, and just very pleasing to listen to.

not my fave type of humor

Suspend ALL beliefs. The odds that these two twits would meet this type of men and maintain the relationship is nil, nada, zip!!! The women were bizarre, inane, obnoxious , and asinine on a good day. Take this tale with a grain of salt, and
as zany amusement for a few hours. I did like that the two showed some maturity and growth by the end of the tale. That ending was rudely abrupt. Would a few sentences have killed the author???? I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator was okay, but needs to work on male voices.

Hysterical and heart felt storytelling

I could not get over the banter, it felt like how I talk to my best friend in the best and worst of times (minus the road trip). I love narrators that just go for it and from the first line, the author wrote the hilarity and the narrator brought it to life and left me wondering, crying, and feeling for everyone. Will definitely listen again!

Sappy and Glib

I really thought this would be a fun listen. The narrator is good, but cannot do a British accent to save her life. And a good British accent is the only thing that would have made a sex scene I just listened to bearable. The guy sounds like an elderly super villain. All these cutesy happy accidents keep happening to a couple of apparently spoiled sisters. A road trip with no planning on their dad's dime because poor big sister got cheated on. They immediately meet perfect guys. Barf. No substance, and it feels like a high school girl wrote this. I'm returning it.
