Unexpected entertaining therapy

Anybody who has been in a relationship with any of its insecurities, illogic at times, bliss, lust, hurt, and hope and longing can take something away from this story. Recognizing our own part in these cycles is illuminating and can help us examine where we keep screwing up. I’m accidentally read this while going through an intense grieving part of my life - losing both parents within days of each other - I thought ‘Sex addiction” what’s that and a romance set in London - take me away while I listen on the treadmill looking for some oblivion to the pain. Strangely it helped me whether relevant or not on point at all - a bit of escapism but also going directly into all the feels and issues with which parent child and significant other relationships are fraught. Don’t let the entertainment of the book fool you into not seeing the importance of this book in discussing addictions of various types and how in the end we muddle through to a livable resolution, even if as humans we will always be works in progress. Well done Jennifer Woodward - my collective 8 hours on the treadmill while crying and grieving and listening to your book was well spent.
