Children are not even safe in their beds

Children are falling asleep all over town to unending nightmares of bullying and abuse. Monster-hunter Stella Familiar has to figure out how to chase down the perp. I love the action of these stories, and I love-love-LOVE the narrator, but I keep getting confused as to what the rules of magic are. Well, I guess as long as Stella understands them, Londoners will be safe in their beds!

I got this audiobook free in exchange for an honest review.

Great Sequel

This was a great sequel and better than the first book! Once again, Stella must protect the citizens of London. One by one, children are falling asleep and not waking up, keeping them trapped in their nightmares. Stella and detective David Tyler must find a way to banish a monster from the past to save them all. I liked that we got to see more of David’s family in this book, but it did make for a more urgent matter to solve the case and an emotional ride. We also got to see Stella experience childhood emotions for the first time since she never had one whichwas very interesting. I love that the author uses unique monsters for this series instead of your everyday ones. This book was filled with suspense, action, and many new characters.
Heather did another great job with this narration! She managed to bring every character to life with their own voice and put emotion in her performance to make you feel for the characters.

Escaping a Nightmare!

This is the 2nd book in this Series about Stella Familiar and the Monsters she has to protect London from. Thos one is about children who were bullied. Narrator does a good job with the characters voices and the entire storyline.

I couldn't put this one down

A creature has returned from Stella's town’s dark past. 80 years ago, it targeted young children, taking them in their sleep. Her former masters were able to defeat it, but their enchantment has worn off. Now it has returned and taken many children who may never wake up. To interact with the creature, you have to have had a childhood trauma. How can a familiar born as an adult defeat something they can’t touch? Will she figure out how to enter the Nightmare Realm where it resides? Narrator, Heather Tracy’s arsenal of different voices is engaging and brings the characters of the Uncanny Kingdom to life. Her narrative style matches well with the authors’ style. Her intonations and pacing easily draws the listener into the story. The plot is well-developed and impossible to put down. Fans of dark fantasy, magic, and mystery will enjoy listening to this book.

Better than the first book

I almost did not give this book a chance to redeem itself because of the first book; but I'm glad I did. while this storyline was much better this book did not reach out and pull me in. The narrator does a great job and I enjoy her work. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
