It was inescapably chilling, as if the murderer was methodically working his way down a page torn from the phone book. The three victims brutally killed in their own homes had one thing in common: They were all listed as M. Douglas. The fact that Mara Douglas is next on the list has her jumping at shadows, until FBI agent Aidan Shields shows up to make sure she doesn't become the fourth victim.

Night Shift is a well written book with engaging characters and an entertaining plot. I like Hildy and all of the supporting characters. Hildy is a very realistic character, she has flaws and constantly works on them. I enjoyed this book very much and look forward to the next book in this series.

Last book by this author
Narration was good but was tempted to stop listening half way through the book. If you aren't tired of critical race theory and white supremacy from this year's TV shows, this book may be for you . Previous series was good and I have all of them, but this was the last one I am buying by this author.

Lacks the humor of Maddie Winston
I adore Ms. Ryan’s Maddie Winston series. This falls flat to me. I loved the black humor and snark in the other series. This feels bland by comparison.
