Very well written!

This book was very well written, and a book I couldn’t put down. Kelly Yang did an excellent job of composing a story about the COVID-19 pandemic and the sacrifices and life experiences that affect a racially mixed family leaving Asia for the United States to try to keep from contracting COVID-19. Very compelling and thought provoking. I work in an elementary school library and will definitely recommend to students in 4th grade and above.

Could not put it down!

I have read all of Kelly Yang’s books usually slowly not wanting to leave her characters. But New From Here I could not put down until I had finished the last page!

Just amazing

Like all Kelli yang books we have relatable carecters. Like how they deal with rasicim which affects us or how the pandemic COVID -19 did. I like how she focuses on real life problems like Asian hate, Pandemics, and just rasicim in general. She talks about Knox and how the pandemic is affecting him and how it is affecting everyone around him. He can't do the things he loved to do before, and starting online school is tough. He has to leave behind his dad and his dog due to the pandemic. I just love the story line and how she describes carecters feelings in all her books, and especially this one. It is such a great heart felt story to listen to just to start your day. I love how we get narrators that really express the authors emotions that they want to portray through a carecter and that is what Justin Chien does. This book has been amazing and I think you should read it to.

New from here is amazing because it hooked me and I couldn’t stop listening to it Kelly Yang is an amazing author and I’m just a kid but her books comfort me as I drift of to sleep please read her books and I wish I could listen to them forever.
