Acerca de esta escucha
Nelson Mandela is a global icon of peace and justice. An influence to human rights activists in South Africa, across the continent and on the Western and Eastern hemispheres, he is seen as an example to follow. Through his resilience, he showed tremendous courage in fighting against apartheid, to enduring the harsh conditions of prison on Robben Island, to leading a free and democratic South Africa as its first Black President and as leader of the African National Congress.
If you’re looking for inspiration from one of the world’s best-known leaders, check out this book about a man who spent his life fighting for equality and human rights. Nelson Mandela served as South Africa’s president between 1994 and 1999 and led the anti-apartheid revolution that sought to end segregation between the country’s Black and White populations. Throughout his life, he faced tremendous struggles such as racial discrimination and being sentenced to life imprisonment for conspiracy against the state. In total, he spent 27 years in jail. However, he is remembered for his resilience and for never giving up on his cause. Throughout all the hardships Mandela faced, he always sought opportunities to spread his vision for an equal South Africa and never lost focus on his life's purpose. If you want to learn about the history of Mandela, this book covers his life story from his childhood to the day he was elected the first Black state leader and his work after this milestone event. His inspiring story includes how he dealt with the harsh realities of prison and what lessons he learned that shaped him to be the powerful yet humble and kind man that he is remembered for being.
In this book, Nelson Mandela: The Life, Lessons & Rules for Success, you will discover:
- The story of Mandela and how it shaped the values that he chose to live his life by.
- Why he went to prison and how he managed to survive 27 years inside.
- How Mandela maintained his relentless passion to end the apartheid era in South Africa and which steps he took to make South Africa a better country for its citizens.
- The powerful life lessons Mandela learned along the way.
- The 10 rules of success that Mandela lived by and endorsed - and how you can apply them to your life too.
While Nelson Mandela has left us in physical form, his legacy continues to live on. Hailed as the greatest South African of all time, he is the reason why the nation opened its doors to the world and why it now has opportunities for all citizens to prosper. Due to his years of resistance, the nation went from being a blight in Africa to becoming the African nation that is seen as a new global superpower in less than three decades!
But how did this magnificent tale come to be? Buy this audiobook now and find out.

We long for heroes and have too few. Nelson Mandela, who recently celebrated his 91st birthday, is the closest thing the world has to a secular saint. He liberated a country from a system of violent prejudice and helped unite oppressor and oppressed in a way that had never been done before.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s account of the first successful large-scale application of nonviolent resistance in America is comprehensive, revelatory, and intimate. King described his book as "the chronicle of 50,000 Negroes who took to heart the principles of nonviolence, who learned to fight for their rights with the weapon of love, and who, in the process, acquired a new estimate of their own human worth."

Historia
Israel is a tiny state, and yet it has captured the world's attention, aroused its imagination, and, lately, been the object of its opprobrium. Why does such a small country speak to so many global concerns? More pressingly: Why does Israel make the decisions it does? And what lies in its future? We cannot answer these questions until we understand Israel's people and the questions and conflicts, the hopes and desires, that have animated their conversations and actions.

Historia
Of the great figure in 20th-century American history perhaps none is more complex and controversial than Malcolm X. Constantly rewriting his own story, he became a criminal, a minister, a leader, and an icon, all before being felled by assassins' bullets at age 39. Through his tireless work and countless speeches he empowered hundreds of thousands of black Americans to create better lives and stronger communities while establishing the template for the self-actualized, independent African American man.

Historia
The urgent need to honor the 56 Signers of the Declaration of Independence came to Douglas MacKinnon, fittingly enough, on the Fourth of July. While doing research for a column meant to remind the American people of that date’s critical importance, he came across example after example of those from the left and the far left—be they in the mainstream media, activists, or anarchists—calling for not only the “canceling” of the Fourth of July, but the continued smearing, censorship, and canceling of our Founding Fathers.

At the height of the Civil Rights Movement, while much of the nation's attention was given to peaceful protests, boycotts, and figures like Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, Jr., a young man named Malcolm Little was rising through the ranks to become one of the leaders and public faces of the Nation of Islam. As Malcolm X, he would come to be one of the most controversial figures in 20th century America, hailed as a bold human rights activist by some and reviled as a violent racist by others.

Historia
On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. She was not trying to start a movement. She was simply tired of the social injustice. Yet her simple act of courage started a chain of events that forever shaped the landscape of American race relations. Now, decades after her quiet defiance inspired the modern civil rights movement, Mrs. Parks' own words tell of her courageous life, her passion for freedom and equality, and her strong faith.

Stan McChrystal served for 34 years in the US Army, rising from a second lieutenant in the 82nd Airborne Division to a four-star general, in command of all American and coalition forces in Afghanistan. During those years he worked with countless leaders and pondered an ancient question: "What makes a leader great?" He came to realize that there is no simple answer. McChrystal profiles 13 famous leaders from a wide range of eras and fields - from corporate CEOs to politicians and revolutionaries. He uses their stories to explore how leadership works in practice.

Historia
Born into slavery in 1818, Frederick Douglass rose to become one of the nation's foremost intellectuals - a statesman, author, lecturer, and scholar who helped lead the fight against slavery and racial oppression. Unlike other leading abolitionists, however, Douglass embraced the US Constitution, insisting that it was an essentially anti-slavery document and that its guarantees for individual rights belonged to all Americans, of whatever race. Douglass spoke in his most popular lecture, "Self-Made Men", of people who rise through their own effort and devotion rather than privilege.

Captures Mandela's essence
A brief review of Mandela's life and a few, key teachings. Conveys more than what I was exposed to in US public school in the 60's, though that says little. Certainly worth the 75 minute investment.
