Publisher's summary

Of all the men on the Icehome beach, Thrand's the most competitive and most aggravating. He's cocky. Arrogant. Turns everything into a rivalry. He's a pain in the you know what.

He also keeps insisting that I kiss him. After all, I'm the one that told him a kiss didn't mean anything. It shouldn't. A kiss is just a kiss as far as humans are concerned. But Thrand's a clone, a race of people called a'ani, and he's been brought up to play hard and to win.

And he wants to win me.

But does Thrand want me for the right reasons? Or am I just another conquest?

Contains mature themes.

My Favorite Story

This book was so funny. I loved Thrand’s personality; so competitive and innocently humorous. I also loved the way Nadine interacted with Thrand during his shenanigans. The book offered excitement, drama, and lots of love. Great story! Narrators did an excellent job as usual. On to the next book!

Buy it you won't regret it!

I listened to all of "Ice Planet" books and loved them. I got started when they were included in audible escape so I'm pretty sad I can't binge anymore. That being said these are still some of my favorite books. This one in particular.

This book is so worth the credit it's cute, funny, sexy, and there's a reason why they fight getting together. I hate spoilers so just listen to the book. Out of the entire "Ice Planet" series and this series so far this is my favorite.

Very good story

I liked the way this book unfolded. It was sweet and a Nice little slow build to a great couple. By the way they were both of color. He was red and she was Africa America. Great job

Nadine and Thrand.

‘I can do it better’ said Thrand, he was such a goofball trying to be an individual. This was another smexy story from Ruby Dixon and if you’re on this book you know you like her and this one is as good as all the rest. I like how RD’s heroines come from all different backgrounds and races; they are not all the same person just with different names for each book. I recommend reading the series in order as it is on a bit of a timeline, starting with the Ice Planet Barbarian series. Got the series with my Kindle Unlimited and was able to purchase this for the Whispersync price. Narrators are great.

This is cute!

And luckily Nadine get's the male closest to a human for no crazy surprises. Although, the competitive Thrand is no simple guy lol

Anything you can do, I can do better

Nadine and Thrand’s story falls on the funnier end of the series, which I prefer over the books that dwell too much on angst (take book 5, Hannah’s Hero, which was a total downer). I loved the explanation for the A’ani clones and how both nature and nurture made Thrand into the cocky, competitive over-eager suitor that he is. Mostly, his exuberant puppy-ness was fun. I did occasionally get wigged out by the manchild vibes.

After book 1, these spin-off books can mostly be heard as standalones, however there are some connections that flow better if you go in order (like the evolution of the Old Grandfather contacts).

Funniest in the series

The dialogue between the H & h is simply hilarious. I cannot get enough of the clones’ growth as individuals. The first clone’s story was melancholy and heartwarming. This story was light and fun.

Nadine is my favorite character from the Icehome series. I like that she is athletic and not sitting around a camp fire all day. She also doesn’t spend the whole book whining about her circumstances. She makes the most of a difficult situation and moves forward; like Liz from the IPB series- who btw is my other favorite female lead.

Loved both narrators. Very enjoyable listening experience.
