Confusing story line

Bad editing and very chaotic story lines made me stop listening mid story Something I have only done once before

AI voice worked

I did not think that AI voice over would be the best thing about a book, but I guess that I was wrong.
Characters have no progression, start goes right into story without any proper intro. Several times story just skips part of the story to make even sense, there was even part that sounded like from different book.
Be it story or character progression, it was just weird. Don't take me wrong, it could be great book with interesting story, but it would have been written twice as long and was more detailed. I
I rarely rate books badly, but if this one was not free, I would ask for money back.

I’m not sure what’s going on or why

It feels like I’m jumping into a second part of a story. The motives of the characters are unclear, the logic of the other characters seems unclear and often contradictory. Also I thought the main character was a woman but I think the AI narrator keeps changing their gender.
