Sixty-one year old Ruth Barstow is mean, bitter, and always sticking her nose in everyone's business, including threatening the local police chief to do his job or lose it.
Until the night she crosses paths with a dangerous man named Devin.
Now, she's a trembling mess and quite possibly losing her mind - and needs the police chief's help to stop Devin from terrorizing her. But the police chief has other plans.
I did not expect to like this as well as I did. The narrator could have been more passionate during the more important scenes. But the story was great. There were plenty of twists and turns. The characters were well developed. It was unpredictable and that's what you want in this genre. I would recommend this book.
Great story! I loved it, at times hated it because of what was happening but that's what makes the story so good. Keeps your attention throughout the whole book. I liked Riley a lot. Other then that it's really hard not to give spoilers. Buy the book you won't regret it
I really enjoyed this book! I thought the characters were great, the story had a lot of suspense and there were lots of twists. This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I'm going to now go find more.
I’m speechless, I just don’t know what to say. Although this book kept me interested all the way until the end, I just can’t. I don’t want to give away any spoilers and there is no way to talk about this book without them. I guess all I can say is to read this book or listen to the audiobook. You will enjoy it although there will be times you want to throw you phone across the room because of things going on.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The narrator did a great job and the storyline was quite unexpected. As a psychological thriller I did expect a little bit more but the further I got into the story I could see it. Jealously and anger are powerful emotions, it blinds you to the obvious, and words matter. I think anyone reading this book will not be disappointed, I was not disappointed.
