Not as good as the other reviews suggest!

This book was just ok. The plot was fairly predictable and the characters were one dimensional. I did like the book recommendations that Nora, the bookstore owner, made throughout the book.

Great cozy mystery

This mystery was really enjoyable. it had the best elements of genre without being too formulaic. The characters were pretty well developed.
There is one drawback: the narrator in the audiobook sounded robotic. It felt like each word had been individually recorded and strung together. I think it was a recording issue, not a performance issue, but I can't be sure.

Entertaining, but a little contrived

Not the most original plot and the dialogue between characters seemed forced at times, like the author was using them to explain plot points that were pretty obvious and didn't need to be spelled out. it was still an amusing read, though, with some likable characters.

Kept me coming back for more

I'm new to audiobooks. The reader was very clear. The storyline was eonderful. I'm glad I purchased this book as it was delightfully entertaining.

Refreshing

Loved this book. As a guy, maybe I shouldn't but I did. The secret book and scone society is a great listen with great characters with just enough color to make it highly interesting. I can't wait to see if the society continues.

Awesome Book!

I loved how this book combined mystery, romance, and increased the awareness of how the past can hinder the future from happening. I haven't read a book like this in a long time, so it was quite refreshing. Even though it causes empathy for the characters and makes the reader a bit depressed, I would say that it is a feel good book. I can just taste the comfort scones in my mouth right now!

The underlying tale isn’t bad, but the over-the-top descriptive language recalled Raymond Chandler’s pulp fiction novels.
