My 2nd Time Through the Series

After watching the "Bosch" series on Amazon Prime, my husband requested we listen to this first Bosch audio book during a recent road trip. Even though this is my 2nd time through the series, this story was as enjoyable as my first listen. This time around I got to spend some time appreciating the excellent writing style of Michael Connelly. This author is among my list of top tier suspense writers of all time. His method of character development is through more action and dialog than back-story. A page does not go by where Bosch's character isn't being fleshed out through the small details of life. Connelly proves that attention to detail matters when writing a great series. Listen to the story -- you will see what I mean.

In my mind, Dick Hill's voice is Bosch. I am enjoying these first books with his voice.

Very entertaining!!

This was a great book...Connelly created Harry with this story and whats amazing is, his first Harry book is as good as his last. There are a couple silly parts, for example, at one time Harry catches 2 detectives following him and he handcuffs them to a tree. Other than that its a great listen. Dick Hill is amazing as the narrator as well.

Another good Harry Bosh novel. It is well written and flows. If you are a Harry Bosh fan, you will like this one.

This book really captured my interest in the Bosch series. Connelly put the words "twists and turns" to good use in this one.

Enjoyed the entire book, no particular moment or scene.

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think that Dick Hill is the voice of Harry Bosch. I enjoy the energy that Hill puts into his performances, his various voices and the introduction of sounds to make the story more realistic to the listener.

Connelly and Bosch a great team

if Connelly writes it and Harry Bosch is in it it is good. Nuff said.

If you could sum up The Black Echo: Harry Bosch Series, Book 1 in three words, what would they be?

I got hooked on Lee Child's Jack Reacher series probably because of the voice actor, Dick Hill. He is marvelous. If you like Reacher, you're gunna really like Bosch. Also, Amazon has produced a Bosch TV series. Ten episodes. They're great, too. All thumbs up.

keeps your attention

too much use of the f word.............guess that's how cops talk???? but it did have a good story line and kept my attention

I watched TV series first. This book is why that series is so good!

Great Characters and story, brilliantly read by dick hill. I was amused how many plot lines in tv series came from the book even though it is MANY years prior.

The second book in the series. Predictable. Kind of like Law and Order. Maybe exciting in the 1990s, but expect more now. Reader is very good.
