Publisher's Summary

After a brutal snowstorm in the Cascade Mountains, Chris Jacobs discovers two things he never expected to see: the charred shell of a cabin, and Gianna Trask and her sixteen-year-old daughter huddled in an SUV, having barely escaped from their burning vacation rental.

Still scarred from a childhood ordeal, Chris knows there's something sinister about the scene - it's the stench of burned flesh.

Forced to wait out the blizzard in their rescuer's retreat, medical examiner Gianna Trask wonders if her hidden past has finally caught up with her. When a body is found in the destroyed cabin's ashes and a forest ranger is brutally murdered, both Gianna and Chris must confront their secrets if they want to escape the violent threat lurking outside.

In the fifth book in the Bone Secrets series, Kendra Elliot leads listeners on a dangerous, twisting journey of two lives forever changed by a fiery snowstorm in the mountains.

Murders in the Oregon Cascades!

Kendra Elliot has written another excellent mystery/thriller set in western Oregon! Tanya Eby's narration is superb as always.

This novel is not the type of serial killer book that Elliot usually writes. While the antagonist kills several people it is an effort to reach a specific goal.

A bone secret

What didn’t you like about Tanya Eby’s performance?

She is not a good actress for reading. She charging through the story as if she only has five minutes to get it done. No real emotion just reading! I cannot continue with this story. I don't understand why the author wouldn't recognize this.

Any additional comments?

Cannot finish this book!

a little slow

In the beginning of this book is slow and dragged in some places, the story is a little outlandishly and far fetch. Overall thumbs half way up.

Good story

Glad there was less foul language and less graphic sex scences than the prior books.

Rollercoaster ride

This is the last book in the Bone Secrets series. Great read but I'm sad there's no more. If you haven't read series, what are you waiting for?

Took a while to get going

I have really enjoyed this series, and Buried was one of the best audible books I've ever listened to so I was really excited about this next one but it just seemed to really drag on and the first 2/3 of the book seemed very slow. I kept listening because she is such an excellent writer I knew it would eventually get spicy, which it did, But took a while to get there. Great overall plot and some good twists.
