Publisher's Summary

After marrying her college sweetheart, Ginger Williams gave up her own professional dreams to help her husband follow his dream of building a megachurch. It's not long before Ginger and her husband, Jeremy, turn a small DC church into a burgeoning empire...catapulting the couple into a popular powerhouse. But with a bigger spotlight comes more temptation, and the power is corrupting Jeremy in ways Ginger never imagined.

When she seeks the advice of her peers on the First Ladies' Council, she's shocked when they tell her to accept Jeremy's infidelities so she doesn't damage the church and affect the many business opportunities coming their way. With every part of her life - family, faith, and finances - hanging in the balance, Ginger must decide if she will continue to live in the shadow of the sins of her husband, or face life on the other side of the pulpit.

Storyline was compelling. Voices not so much.

The storyline was so good. I couldn’t put it down. Finished the book in 2 days!! I only wish the male characters were done by a male, not by a female trying to sound like a man. They all sounded like the same 90 year old man.

Amazing

This book was so good from beginning to end. I can’t believe how true to life it was. I grew up in a church and the scandals are real gizelle captured the scandal of the church perfectly without downing the black church. Please write more gizelle

So Real! A Must Read Before Becoming a Pastor’s Wife

I felt Ginger’s pain because my mother is a pastor’s wife. My stepfather is now a bishop over other churches. The issue of infidelities arose in their relationship and became very real when my mom got an std from him. Prior to that I found tape recordings of him messing with one of the member’s. When confronted by my mom he lied and said he was acting. Someone also poisoned my mom, tried to work witchcraft on her...on and on and on. So much more and this book is so relatable on so many levels. She chose to stay with my step-father to this day and today is actually their 36th wedding anniversary. I know it is loosely based on Giselle’s life but as I listened, the people I saw were her and her ex-husband. I myself would make the same choice as Gizelle, but then again I wouldn’t even consider dating a man of the cloth on that level. This book is so real and so needed especially for women who are considering becoming a pastor’s wife.

Too long and drawn out for me

I always give a book a chance. I got so tired of the looooonnnnngggg story line of the pastor's wife trying to figure out whether or not her husband, the pastor was cheating. Most of the book was speculation and the end result was quicker than the rest of the book. Just that part of the story line was boring and way too redundant. I am returning this one. I'll try another one of this author's books but this one didn't cut it.
