I still love it!!!

I have the immortal book series by Due and have enjoyed reading them years ago. So now having the audio versions is like a new adventure all over again, listening to the story from someone else's lips. I love her and hope that she connects with Jordan Peele and bring this book to life in a movie!!! I think he would do an amazing job bringing this story to the big screen, a 5 or 6 part mini series would be amazing! I'm allowed to dream.... aren't I!😊

So good. Why isn’t this a movie already?

Maybe it was the performance. This was suspenseful. I wanted to close my eyes and barely peek to see what would happen. But I can’t do that here, can I? This could be a beautiful, complex, thought provoking movie. Come on, Netflix!

What a phenomenal introduction to a world

I do not want to give anything any, so I will simply say this as an author, Ms. Due has created a wonderful tale. As a narrator, a Peter Frances James has the ability to draw you in, never letting go. I for one cannot wait to continue with the African Immortals series.

Never disappointed!

This author is one of my favorite! I’ve enjoyed all of her books. If you’ve never read her work before, this is a great series to start with.

It took a while to get used to a male performing all of the voices but the story is so good, that ceased to be important.

Good book

This was a good book but OMG it was long! At any rate, I definitely got to know the characters in depth and I would like to have learned a little more about what the deal was with Grandpa and the lady in the tree. I will probably read more by this author, when I have a lot of time on my hands.

Captivating!

From start to finish this story is engaging and strong. The characters are complicated and real. The story is familiar yet unknown. I highly recommend this story.

So good but eerie

This book exceeded my expectations and was way beyond my thoughts. It was intricate and well-written, with a captivating narration. While there were a few parts I could have skipped, I comprehend the rationale behind their inclusion. These additions ultimately created a satisfying and complete narrative. I can’t imagine how I would have responded in that situation, but it was an extraordinary and, to be honest, believable concept. If you’re a fan of deep supernatural stories, this book is a must-read. It’s unforgettable and leaves a lasting impression.

Wonderful story

I've read this novel before and was just as captivated this time as I was the first. I was still brought to tears as I felt Jessica's pain. The only drawback is that there's a chapter missing in the audio book at the end of the novel. I would give it 0.5 less stars but I truly do enjoy this author and her works.
