Publisher's Summary

For a decade, Hannah’s life has been pretty close to perfect - she has a great job, she’s married to Mark, and her child-free existence means she’s free as a bird. The only sadness in her life is a fall-out with her sister Diane, who hasn’t spoken to her in over 10 years. But now Diane is on her doorstep - and this time, she’s got her teenage daughter, Mia, in tow.

When Diane asks if Mia can stay with Hannah and Mark for a few days, Hannah is glad of the chance to get to know her niece. But as the days turn into weeks and Diane doesn’t return, Hannah begins to worry. Why hasn’t her sister been in touch?

Diane is carrying a devastating secret that will destroy Hannah’s carefully constructed life. But how much is she willing to reveal - and when will she pick her moment?

An emotional story that delves into the true meaning of family, sisterhood and secrets. Perfect for fans of Kerry Fisher and Adele Parks.

waste of time

What a waste of time! A very predictable and thin story line. Even the sentences were predictable. In contrast, the narration was good.

A bit long-winded

tThere are parts of this story that were very drawn-out. I thought it could be summarized and half the length. Sorry, I just didn't really enjoy the Journey.

Wait, what?

The beginning starts fantastic and has you hanging on every word. By the middle, I could have quit the book and been just fine to never know what happened. It lost me after a few chapters. I did hang on until the end and ended up thinking I should have quit midway. It took such crazy twists and turns that I was in disbelief because I have four sisters and this is kind of an unthinkable ending. If crazy, unbelievable fiction is your cup of tea, by all means, read this one!

Excellent Story and Excellently Written

This is an excellent novel with suspicion and suspense. An excellent look at how we are shaped by those we love.

Made me cry

It brought tears to my eyes. It was predictable, but overall a good read. I wish it would’ve went on to say if they expanded their family.

Great story

Very interesting dynamic between twins. My mom is an identical twin and she and her sister would switch on their dates from time to time and they were never discovered.

Can't say too much without giving it away!

Well written and well read, this story keeps you guessing until the end. Part ethical dilemma, part mystery, part character study, you laugh and cry and try to figure out what the sister is lying about... and yes, we do eventually find out!

So good!

I’m so thrilled to have found this title in an Air B&B we were staying at. I downloaded the book right away and loved every second of it. Great plot, I just wish I knew how Mia took the revelation of who her father is.

Heartbreaking

Sometimes a book catches your eye like this one did for me, but I didn’t realise how much it would unfold or become a real life experience.
After recently grieving the loss of a family member to suicide it brought back some real emotional connections. Then, again other similarly events unfolded with another loss to cancer. This book is so beautifully written, tenderly tells the story of a Mother’s unconditional love along with the reassuring message that where there is love healing can start. Thank you so much for helping me heal my grief x

Too Long

This is a good story, but rather dragged-out. It would have benefited from tighter editing.

Disappointing

Some reviews had said this was a moving story with a twist, unfortunately I found it very drawn out, characters with little personality and a heroine that I got tired of always being good and doing the right thing. Maybe I just prefer faster moving stories with more going on
