Publisher's summary

For as long as Prudence can remember, it has been understood her sister will one day wed the eldest son of their nearest neighbor. Such an alliance will benefit both families and bring a great deal of joy to all parents involved.

Unfortunately, Prudence has never been able to feel as joyful. She believes her sister is mad to consider marrying a man she hardly knows, even if he will one day make her a countess. Titles and wealth shouldn't factor into matters of the heart, and as an aspiring romance novelist, Prudence cannot fathom how anyone could even think of settling for less than love. She certainly wouldn't, and she doesn't want her sister to, either.

Unable to stand by and do nothing, Prudence sets out to help the awkward couple discover the best in each other with the hope they will eventually find love. What she neglected to foresee, however, was the possibility she might fall in love with Lord Knave herself.

My Sister's Intended

This is a sweet listen but not just fluff. Prudence inadvertently catches the attention of her sister, Sophia's, intended. While that sounds really scandalous in today's society, in the time of arranged marriages for wealth, money, and social status, it's not that far fetched. Brand and Prudence are clearly much better suited, but she is the younger sister. And, this is the premise of this really sweet but engaging tale. For a clean listen, I found this book to be more sexy and romantic than many sex filled books. The chemistry between Brand and Prudence was so strong I understood why Prudence removed herself from coming in contact with Brand. This was my first Rachael Anderson and I can't wait to listen to more. I was pulled in from the beginning and would have listened straight through if I didn't have responsibilities and interruptions.

I listened to this book because I noticed Helen Taylor had a new book out. I love her narrations and tend to try new authors based on narrators I've listened to and enjoyed before. Helen delivers another stellar performance. Hope she will be doing other books in this series, because she always delivers on a great performance!

The outspoken lady, a writer? Unheard of!

Prudence loves books, particularly romance novels, and fancies herself a writer. This is much to the chagrin of her mother, who believes that her younger daughter is filling her head with nonsense...nothing that will help her to 'catch a nice husband'...after her sister's wedding, of course. When her sister is having pre-wedding jitters about her intended, Lord Knave (love that name...lol), Prudence decides to investigate and test the man. Really, shouldn't people marry for love? As Prudence becomes friends with Brand (Lord Knave), her feelings become more...how will she reconcile these feelings without betraying her sister and family? Brand is also an great guy, and his banter with Prudence will leave you in stitches!
This is a clean, historical romance in which the h is witty & clever and will have you cheering her on from page 1! Love how protective she is of her older, somewhat naive, sister. We have a beautiful HEA, and can't wait for the next book...no spoiler's on who's HEA ;-)

A fun and innocent love story

Nice to listen to before bed - helped me relax. I like the sassy female lead. There are parts of the plot that remind me of the German movie “Sissi.”

SHE DID IT!!

Author is smart. I couldn’t figure out how she was going to end the store.
She did it, in a pleasant, extremely kind and generous way.
Talented writer.

This is somewhat predictable but never boring!

This was to be Prudence’s First Season, but since her sisters illness last year, Sophia would be celebrating her First Season instead. Prudence was fine with this. She loved her sister and knew her parents and Lord Knave’s parents hoped that the two would make a union .
Prudence was passionate about becoming a writer, but she dared not let anyone know since her parents would be appalled. Although she also her sister were close, Prudence was certain Sophie would censure her also.
While attending the Ball last night, Prudence witnessed a whispered conversation between the rake Sophia was to marry and a widow, to meet at the abandoned shack on his property which bordered Prudence family’s. While Prudence thought this would make a great novel, she felt justified in climbing a tree nearby to witness the impropriety of Lord Knave, this totally unfit for her sister.
Prudence was not only discovered, but humbled, and intrigued. She also feared her juxtaposition would bring the wrath of her mother upon her for all her inappropriate actions.
Lord Knave was truly a gentleman and never revealed her actions.
This is a very entertaining tale of romance with added intrigue and humor to keep the reader anxiously “turning pages “ and experiencing heartfelt emotions.
The characters are very well portrayed and endearing. The various scenes are depicted well, allowing the reader to feel a part of the experience. The Title and Cover Image are both chosen very well.
Helen Taylor does a great job in emphasizing key phrases and in acting out the various “voices “.
