Publisher's summary

A brand new book in the Sinful Men series! Indulge in this friends-to-lovers romance narrated by Scott Brick and Samantha Cook!

Just because you want a woman doesn't mean you get to have her. I've been lusting after Mindy Gamble since the night I met her, but romance was never in the cards. Working to crack a case was the only order of the day. Now, a year later, she's one of my closest friends.

The feisty, no-nonsense, sexy-as-hell blonde that I just want to slap my handcuffs on and do bad things to. I resist though, since I need her too much as a friend. Until the night all my resistance cracks, and we fall into bed together. And I start thinking we can maybe find a way to make this work. Until she tells me she's leaving town...

The perfect bow!

Mindy and John's story is the perfect wrap up to this amazing series! We could feel their attraction in the series and having them finally give in to their attraction is just icing on the cake. I love the way they got together, and the stumbling blocks they had. I also loved the crossover of the Sloan family, giving us a glimpse into their lives now that justice has been served! Ryan and Sophie are just so sweet and bringing everyone together was just magic.

The narration was impeccable. Samantha Cook is one of my favorites and she rang true with Mindy. I have really only heard Scott Brick in mystery and suspense and loved him as a romance narrator! He brings John to life, keeping him solid as a cop, but adding that tender side in. They were wonderful!

My Sinful Temptation

Awe I am so glad we got this short story of John and Mindy. You could feel their attraction in other books so getting their story is bitter sweet because it means the series is over.

I did enjoy the end because it gave us a little of what the Sloan family is like after. Great epilogue.

The narration as always was perfect.

Love is Always Enough

I'm so glad that Mindy and John got their own story and happily ever after. They crossed paths thanks to the Sloan family and I loved seeing them circle each other and slowly give into their feelings. There isn't a lot of angst in this one, but there is a lot of steam thanks to "after dark" John ;) I really enjoyed the narration by Scott Brick and Samantha Cook. Scott Brick was perfect as straight laced John, but I did have a little bit of a hard time differentiating between characters in his chapters. A quick and fun listen and I absolutely loved the epilogues. This was the perfect way to end the series!

🌻Their story could have been so good!🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I was really kinda of bummed that LB ruined a potentially great story about two awesome characters, by throwing a half-assed novella together to complete this series. These two could have been a bad assed team and solved another unsolved case. There could have been an action packed fight scene where they stood back to back and defeated the bad guys, together. Alas, it was not to be. Honestly, there could have just been author’s note, at the end of the last book, that stated that, eventually, these two characters did become a couple and got their HEA, and it would have given the listeners almost the whole content of this release.

I’m sure glad this was included in the Escape Package, because, I would have been ticked if I would have had to purchase this.

My Thoughts on My Sinful Temptation

My Sinful Temptation was a great addition to the Sinful Men series. As a reader who has followed the Sloan family through the previous four books, I personally was excited to know this was coming.

John played a really important part in the previous four books and I started getting attached to him. Mindy was the same. They were secondary characters in each previous book but I was rooting for them to get together.

And while I would have been ok (and I say that grudgingly) with them getting together at the end of the previous book, I'm beyond happy that they got their own book. It was short but so good. I got to know them both better as the leading characters. They had they're own obstacles to get through from actually getting together to how to stay together. But it unfolded perfectly.

I loved this story and feel like this was really the perfect ending to the series.

I really liked the narrators for this story. This series is the first time I've heard Scott Brick but I liked his voice. Samantha Cook I've heard before but not many times. She also had a good voice and I thought they both had really good performances throughout the series but particularly in this story. I would like hearing more from both of them in future.

New to me narrators and I LOVED them!

My Sinful Temptation is the fifth book in the Sinful Men series by the talented and fabulous Lauren Blakely. It's been a few years since the rest of the series was out and if you haven't read it yet, you can read the re-written series now! I always wanted to know what happened to John and Mindy and now Lauren finally gave it to me! John and Mindy always had chemistry, but they were just friends. They got comfortable in their relationship even though they were both attracted to each other, but neither willing to make the first move. But John is done waiting. He wants Mindy and he's not going to wait any longer. After their first kiss, they knew it was worth the wait and they already knew everything about each other so they didn't have to wait to show their feelings. Now they are out in the open and it is going great, Mindy gets a job opportunity across the country. Will John step up and ask her to stay? Will Mindy choose love over her work? I loved this story!! Yay, John! I loved him as the no nonsense cop in the series and he is the perfect leading man. Serious, confident and sexy as sin. Mindy is his perfect match. Willing to give in when he wants to take control. But they are equals. I feel so content to finally have their story and to catch up with the Sloans!

Audio: This was my first time listening to Scott Brick and Samantha Cook. I loved Scott's voice and I think he was the perfect John. Strong and sexy, but you could hear the rare humor in his voice when he let loose. Samantha was also great! I hope to hear more from them in the future!

Romantic Revelations

I love when important supporting characters get their own story. John and Mindy's flirty banter becomes something more, but their lifestyles and possible life changing decisions get in the way of their happily ever after.
With just enough internal turmoil, this book is the icing on the cake as the last book in the Sinful Men series.
Scott Brick and Samantha Cook are great narrative choices for this no nonsense couple.

Beautiful Temptation

This fifth book in the series is the perfect culmination of one of the best series I have read this year! Throughout the series I have been intrigued by John and Mindy as ancillary characters. John is a perfect leading man. You just want him to find love, even though he is married to his work. Mindy's feisty personality is the perfect fit for John. She is one of the few people who can truly understand his devotion to work and what his job truly entails. Friends to lovers is a favorite trope, and this short story absolutely delivers all the feels in true Lauren fashion - Simply awesome! Both have high-demand jobs and struggle with that complexity on top of a new relationship and you just fall in love along with them as they work through it. This final book in the series checks all of my boxes - Wooohoo!

Samantha Cook and Scott Brick do a great job with these complex characters! I look forward to more books with these two!

4.5 utterly tempting stars

Ooh, what a wonderful addition to the Sinful Men series. This novella follows resident Las Vegas Detective, and workaholic John Winston. John the faithful brother, the best friend, and it would seem the very passionate lover. That’s what Mindy Gamble discovers when they both finally break the seal and let the chips fall. Great catching up with all the Sloane clan, it was like listening to one hell of an epilogue. Everything in its rightful place. All the work that these guys have done to rid Vegas of scum, finally coming to fruition. I can’t get enough of these guys, I sure am going to miss them. Scott Brick was the ultimate John Winston, I couldn’t imagine anyone else perfecting it like he did, he was so expressive with the narration, I loved him. Samantha Cook didn’t quite hit the mark for me personally, I didn’t feel her passion.

Great addition

My Sinful Temptation by Lauren Blakely is the fifth book in the Sinful Men series.

This novella is about Mindy and John and this story was a nice addition to the overall series. The length as well, was perfect to cover their relationship and the dual POV’s worked well.

John and Mindy

John is a workaholic detective. He likes Mindy, and they are gym partners, but he feels his job prevents him from having a relationship. Once he’s on a job, it takes all his time and attention and he thinks that it’s not fair to a partner, if he’s only there part time.
Mindy is in Private Security. Her contract is axed and a new job is offered in New York, the other side of the country.
Mindy has been crazy about John for a long time.
They finally get their act together and Mindy looks like she will be dragged away by work.
How they work it out is the crux of this story.

The story is short and if it wasn’t in the INCLUDED, I wouldn’t have bought it.
It is a good listen, and rounds off the series nicely.

So glad that John and Mindy got their own story. They were such big parts at times in the other stories.
Narration was awesome too.
