Publisher's summary

Wall Street Journal best-selling author Tracy Brogan is back with a sweet, hilarious series about family, forgiveness, and what it means to go back home.

Emily Callaghan never expected to spend another summer on Wenniway Island. Yet here she is, back in her quaint northern Michigan hometown of Trillium Bay, divorced, flat broke, and dragging along her precocious 12-year-old. It's a simple arrangement: Emily, a house flipper, will renovate one of her grandmother's rental properties in exchange for a much-needed loan. Once a wild child, the reformed Emily also hopes to remodel her reputation and show her family she's all grown up.

But coming home is never simple. Emily's dad is more distant than ever. Her younger sister is dating a much older man, and Emily's worried it's a mistake. The cottage remodel grows increasingly daunting. And then there's handsome out-of-towner Ryan Taggert...

Ryan has his own family drama. A smart, ambitious land developer, he's come to Wenniway to rescue his father from the grips of a new girlfriend and protect their family business. But he's quickly distracted by gorgeous, witty Emily Callaghan.

There's no denying the attraction between Emily and Ryan. But will their conflicting interests destroy any chance at love? Or will Emily finally get the chance to rebuild her life - and repair her heart?

cute

Being a MI girl born and raised, I related to the location (albeit with distracting names) and the lovely quirky characters. Entertaining, solid chick-lit.

Lol fun entertaining book

This was a fun listen until I was laughing , my family didn't appreciate the interruption of silence. It was just what I needed it had all the elements of family, surprising events and an island where everybody knows everything about everybody or maybe not. It was a fun, cleanenough for me. Thank you !

Absolute keeper!

Where does My Kind of You rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best, Loved the story. So realistic in the thoughts of the characters and real life blunders. Laugh out loud all the way through. The narrator gave a superb performance, when she voiced the young daughter I could see a 12 yr old with braces and ponytail. Well done.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Emily, she could have been anyone"s sister or mother. I loved the depth of emotion the author brought out in her.

What does Amy McFadden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brought a real emotion to the reading. I felt as if I were watching a movie from the other room. I could see each character in full detail.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I would go to see this book as a movie first of all. Tag line? " Big Hearted coming home story"

Lacked Depth

A week passed and I hadn't finished the book. i really didn't like either main character. The female main character was Emily who was divorced and flipping houses for a living. Only her grandmother had to loan her money. She meets Ryan Taggert visiting his father regarding property management. He stays around because he thinks his dad, a widower is involved with a woman over thirty years younger. The location was an island in Michigan and just like any small town, everyone knows everyone's business. Somehow this wasn't my kind of book. Slow moving.

Such a good book!

Glad I ignored the few negative reviews and went with the “just get this book” review suggestions. Wonderfully written and perfectly narrated. I’m starting book 2 in this series right now!

It's simple, I Loved It!

A sweet love story complimented by Amy McFadden's fun, happy reading, made for a lovely, cute story. I loved all the characters and the made up island in Michigan, which I happen to be from. Spend that credit. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!!
