Publisher's Summary

Laird Ruairi Sutherland refuses to send his only son away to be educated by the English. And he most definitely will not appear in Edinburgh to pay homage to a liege who has no respect for Scotland. So he does what any laird would do - he lies to the king. The last thing Ruairi expects is a beautiful English governess to appear on his doorstep.

Lady Ravenna Walsingham is a seasoned spy who is sent to the savage Highlands to uncover a nefarious plot against the Crown. Playing the part of an English governess - a job easier said than done - she infiltrates the home of Laird Sutherland, a suspected conspirator.

Contains mature themes.

Good plot but Not sizzling

This book had a good plot and likable characters. The passion element was lacking in my opinion. The bedroom scenes were not even a minute long with no foreplay. So if you’re looking for a “sizzling“ novel as it is advertised, you’ll be disappointed.

Good plot awful narrator

If you can ignore a not great narrator, this is a fun read. Above average romance. Action, spying, love, and the highlands. Good characters. Enjoyable read.

First-time for a twist of spy and romance

I usually go for time travel historical romance, but this was different, not to bad.

couldn't finish.

I couldn't finish. the narrator's voice was incredibly annoying, it sounded like she was whining while she read, and each sentence had the same phrasing. I couldn't concentrate on the story, though it was also a bit dragging after the middle of the book.

Love this series

Love Victoria Roberts work. I am really enjoying the series. Characters are strong and the women are feisty. Worth the read
