Tech entrepreneur Steve Larsen explores the threads he’s woven together to create an extraordinary life: family bonds lost and found, a pioneering career in Silicon Valley, a lifelong search for meaning, a passion for speed and adventure and a remarkable resilience through health battles that would have stopped most people cold. From wrestling bears to co-founding companies that helped birth modern e-commerce, from discovering a daughter after 39 years to losing a young son, from racing motorcycles across continents to surviving three open-heart surgeries, Larsen reveals how to embrace life’s full spectrum of experiences.

His story reminds us that everyone’s life is shaped by similar fundamental forces—our relationships, our work, our beliefs, our passions and our challenges. While the details differ, we all navigate loss and discovery, success and failure, fear and courage. Written with warmth, humor and honesty, Steve offers insights for anyone seeking to understand their own path and striving to reach their full potential.

This audiobook had me hooked from the very beginning. Hearing the author narrate his own story made it even more powerful—his voice carries the authenticity and emotion behind every experience. His life story is FASCINATING, full of unexpected turns, suspense, and left me craving more after each chapter. It felt like sitting down with someone who has truly lived, learned, and reflected. I highly recommend

A Page-turner Without Pages

(Disclosure: The author is a friend. I have known him as a computer executive and as a motorcyclist. Having listened to the Audible version I sent him the email below)

“ I finished listening to the book in bed last night. I’ve listened to it in bits and snatches, walking the dog, doing the dishes, cleaning up my room, etc. Once into it I always hurried to get back to it, anxious to see what’s going to happen next. It’s kind of a page-turner without pages.

We’ve known each other for years and as I turned out the lights I realized I’ve only known about 1/8th of you. Knew you’d had open heart surgery, but not the details. . I don’t ever remember our talking about parents, planning, becoming a venture capitalist, or about faith, kindness, apostasy, etc. I don’t know how we missed all that. I guess tomorrow’s ride always took precedence.

I think the book is going to stump the guys at Barnes & Noble. Where are they going to shelve it? It’s not a car book, or a parenting book, or a business book. It’s all that and a lot more. In the end I think it’s a good book for curious people. I say that because I think of myself as a curious person
and I found the heart surgery as interesting as the Lotus restoration and life at the audio stores in Minnesota.

Your narration adds a dimension that readers will miss and that’s too bad. The pauses, the chuckles, even the bloopers, add authenticity and credibility
to the stories you’re telling. And you are a very good story teller.

The family story is particularly interesting for me. I have five first cousins. We’re all friends but our lives don’t intersect. You have dozens who seem to come out of the woodwork every few pages to help you in a pinch. I am profoundly jealous.

The reviews of the print version are terrific. Almost all of them get 5 stars. And I concur. But the audio version has your reading and that’s adds immeasurably to an entertaining read.”
