Publisher's summary

Jon had a simple and solitary life as a dock inspector in the city of Southvale. That was until a ship with elves arrived.

Now, he must contend with a group of beautiful elves that have no idea how to say no or behave in his world. They take what they want, drink what they want, and party how they want.

When Jon discovers they are pirates, his life will be turned into a maelstrom of action, intrigue, romance, and seaside humor from which none of them can steer away.

This collection contains the first 4 books of the series.

My Girlfriends Are Pirate Elves! is a fun, sexy story of a nautical nature. It contains humor, outlandish high adventure, lewd acts, everyday life, some cursing, urban fantasy, pointed ears, magical pistols, sharp teeth, a witch, and there might be a lot of giant monsters somewhere in there. This story is for mature listeners, 18 and up. Avast! There be elves in these waters!

It Really Had A Chance

I didn't heed the reviews about the narrator, thinking people were being mean, but wow... The narrator is extremely monotone and really struggles with voices, especially male voices. ALL men sound the same, so good luck following a conversation between two men. She also lacks emotion. In a tense scene with the story saying the characters are shouting at each other, the monotone continues, stealing any emotion or feeling from the scene.

Most of my complaints are about the sequels. Book 1 is really solid. Decently written and interesting characters made me want to keep listening.
Book 2 is where the cracks start to show. The pacing just goes out the window, and plotpoints just randomly appear.
The books start out on "Earth". I say "Earth" because besides it being called "Earth", it doesn't really share any commonality with actual Earth. Different money, different cities, different governments. Then it has super heroes. Then it has magic. They don't feel even eluded to. They just happen because the story needed it, I guess?

I'd say buy the first book and enjoy the experience.

He just thinks he’s the MC

This is a story about a young man who runs away from his potential to live a simple life and gets tangled up with some very powerful, confident and intelligent women who will take life by force.

While a good portion of the story is told from his perspective, enough of it is told from the women’s point of view that it’s easy to see that he is just along for the ride until book three or so and he finally comes into his own and starts living life with his new family. If you have ever been a part of a polyamorous relationship with strong successful women who want to lift the man in their life you might understand what is going on relationship wise, otherwise you might not be able to handle this one.

it's ok

The MC comes off as a submissive bottom in the first 3 books. it's not until the fourth book that he starts discovering how to be more dominant, finally. was driving me mad.

An Entertaining Coast Toward a Grand Adventure.

A mundane yet gifted Dock Worker finds his life complicated after coming face to face with a beautiful pirate on a dangerous quest. He's caught in the pirate's (and her crew's) web of life and experiences a world he didn't know he wanted. Enjoyable characters working together, falling in love blissfully fast, hard, and often.

The best way to define this series, is that it's balanced. The MC has an ability that gives him an increasing amount of luck, which he uses throughout daily life and while fighting. The drawback is that when he pushes his luck, an instance of bad luck will affect him, in order to 'balance the scales'. Ironically, there are a lot of positives and negatives about this series that seem to balance each other out.

The MC is accommodating to a fault. Instead of, metaphorically, throwing a coat over a puddle for his lovers to walk over, he'll willingly lie down over the puddle himself. His lovers can appreciate him all the more for it, but you can't really say that would look good. Yet, his giving personality is offset with the fact that very few can contend with him in hand-to-hand combat. At times the MC feels like he has no agency in the story, and other times, he's the most impactful person in it. There are other aspects of the story that could be nitpicked, emphasizing major positives and negatives of the series that readers will either really appreciate or really dislike. Still, it needs to be said that the story very good, despite some of the drawbacks and gets better as the series progresses.

Sierra Kline performed well in this story. She is able to produce a good range of characters, keeping the characters sounding unique and the story interesting.

Overall, this is an entertaining series with several elements that could be seen as enduring to some and frustrating to others. With the audiobook being a 4 for 1 combo, it wouldn't hurt to try it out and see for yourself.

This may have a male MC but it is not a story for men.

I dropped this series after chapter two of book two. First issue; I can’t stand the withholding of truth and lying that goes on repeatedly since the beginning of the first book. Second issue; MC is an absolute simp even after getting his life turned upside down by a bunch of lesbian pirates. Third Issue; The plot. MC saves a chick from bird shit, and they kiss. Lesbo captain then decides to pretty much use blackmail and bribery to move in with MC and make him her whole crews “boyfriend”. To top it off the MC is then pretty much raped and continually lied to and kept in the dark by people who completely ruined and uprooted his life, and he’s ok with it because p***y. Simply put don’t read/listen if you don’t want to hear about a simp MC who gets led around by a leash.
