Did I mention I thought I was straight back then? And that I had no clue he was gay? How was I ever that clueless. OMG! I nearly passed out. I mean, after we got naked and . . . Over the next few years, my whole world changed. I went from never-do-anything-wrong preacher’s kid to a wild child sowing his oats.

Man, I loved oats . . . or men . . . if men were oats.This series is my story. You might find it hard to believe, but it’s all true. It’s also hilarious and heartwarming and sad (but only in spots) and uplifting . . . Did I mention funny? It’s really funny.You’re going to laugh your hiney off!

loved it

This is a really cute short story about coming out to one's self. It was full of humour and references to the 90's, which I loved.
I would have loved to read more of how the story develops from here on.
The narrator did an great job brining the character to life.

Well written interesting story

I'm not sure I can pin point why I loved this so much, but it was a mixture of the fluffy not too serious story with an intelligent thought provoking message that was so well written it kept me engaged the whole time. Yes, it was short and wasn't your typical HEA romance but it also didn't end sadly, but rather with a few things to think about for someone on the outside of the community looking in. I identified with the MC quite a bit even as a het female just because I grew up in such an ultra religious household with nothing but "good Christian" friends, classmates, and neighbors. Please, keep the stories coming. Can't wait for the next one.

Such a cute story. It was very honest and funny. It made me want to listen to the rest of the series for sure. I’m on my way to grab the next one!

Fell short

The name caught my attention, thinking how does anyone accidentally have a first date? And I'm still trying to figure out where exactly the “date” happened. Besides this, It was a cute novella with some educational opportunities thrown into the air. I am intrigued enough to continue the series, maybe he will grow up and not be so naive.

Now, this was my first experience with Jon Curtis, and I need to know if he speaks in the same fashion in every book, because honestly, the tone was annoying and reminded me of my 12-year-old niece. He was able to articulate between the characters, but that drawl….my teeth were grinding.

The narration is terrific

The story is so interesting and fun, I never lost interest for a minute. It left me wanting more.
