Publisher's Summary

In Mustang Man, Louis L’Amour takes Nolan Sackett on a dangerous journey into family betrayal, greed, and murder.

When Nolan Sackett met Penelope Hume in a cantina at Borregos Plaza, the girl immediately captured his attention. That she was heir to a lost cache of gold didn’t make her any less desirable. But Penelope isn’t the only one after her grandfather’s treasure; Sylvie, Ralph, and Andrew Karnes, distant relatives with no legal claim to the gold, are obsessed with claiming the Hume fortune for themselves. Their all-consuming sense of entitlement recklessly drives them to ambush and murder.

Even if Sackett and Penelope are fortunate enough to escape this deadly trio and find the canyon where the gold is hidden, Indian legend has it that nothing will live there - no birds or insects. They say it is filled with the bones of men.

Best narrator yet in the series

Couldn’t put this down. The story and the narrator was The best so far in this series of the Sacketts. Hope to hear more by Terrence Mann.

Tale of Western adventure

Excellent tale! And wonderful delivery. The descriptions of the landscape were very vivid, and the characters came to life, especially with the interesting voices the voice actor employed. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Excellent in every way!

The narrator (first person view) did an excellent job -- authentic main character accent and authentic accents for the other characters he voiced. I'd like to hear him again!

Only average.

Of so many Incredible Louis lamore books I have read this is definitely one of the Disappointments. When I was young I read every single one of his books. I do not have time to read so I do the audible now. After listening for the 1st few chapters I remembered this is one of the ones I did not like. I wonder if this was one of his 1st books.

very dramatized and exciting storyline

Loved how Nolan gets so close to being killed and yet fights in true Sackett style to get freed. Good action and mystery all through to the end.

Loved it. But I'm so biased. It is Louis L'Amour, for heaven's sake. Read it.

Great story

After being introduced to Nolan Sackett in the previous Sackett story, it was a pleasure to see his character developed in his own story. And with a very satisfying ending.
