A good read!

Chloe's best friend is accused of the murder of her recently ex boyfriend, and it seems logical on the surface. Chloe investigates until the truth is proved. Loved it!
I have the audio performed by Stephanie Quinn who does a fine job.

A well-written story from a good author

Murder and Salt Water Taffy, my eighth read from author Meredith Potts, Well-written & enjoyable, another cute, clean cozy mystery. “I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Stephanie Quinn. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A light, fun cozy mystery

Chloe Cook lives in the small tourist town of Cape Cod. No, really, that's the name of the town. We are given no clue as to where this town is, and I suspect the author attended a school system which did not use "here's some paper; draw me a map of X" as a standard form of busywork when a structural malfunction made it necessary to move kids out of their regular classrooms into a larger shared space. (Really. There was a time when I could produce on demand a map of the then-current countries of Africa. Not a perfect work of cartography, but recognizable.)

Be that as it may, Chloe is a makeup salesperson and amateur sleuth in her little town. Her initially rocky relationship with the local police detective, Todd Thicke, has gone from antagonistic to friendly and even cooperative. But not this time. The detective has arrested Chloe's good friend, Jennifer, for murder of her boyfriend, after finding her standing over the body. The evidence is hard to argue with, but Chloe is sure her friend is innocent.

She's determined to prove it, and after pumping her friend for a list of people who might have wanted to kill Richard, she sets out to look for evidence. Imagine her surprise and concern when, going for a look at the area around Richard's house (since she can't go in), she finds Darlene, one of her suspects, also checking out the place. Darlene is the woman Jennifer says Richard was cheating on her with. Darlene claims that, like Chloe, she's determined to find the killer, and isn't willing to trust the police to do it. She suggests they work together. Suspicious, but seeing advantages in keeping a close eye on one of her best suspects.

This turns out to be a useful but dangerous tactic.

It's interesting and fun, and I liked the fact that Thicke, even being sure that this time Chloe is wrong, is more concerned about her running into danger if she's right, rather than lecturing her about not interfering in his investigation.

Recommended for a short, light read or listen.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the publisher, and am reviewing it voluntarily.

Salt Water Taffy is her friend's favorite candy

This story is a lot of fun like the other in the series. The truth is the detective never listens to Chloe and he is always wrong. The author makes it difficult to figure out our murderer, but always injects it with some witty banner and stupid mistakes. Someday, just might get Chloe killed.

A Great Cozy Mystery

You have Chloe Cook an amateur sleuth who's best friend is accused of murdering her boyfriend. So now Chloe sets out to find who the murderer is. The storyline is well developed with interesting characters. The book is free of frank sex and foul language. This is a great family time mystery. I recommend this book.

Enjoyable quick read

Enjoyed this quick read cozy mystery. Another murder in Cape Cod and, this time, it's a good friend of Chloe Cook that appears to have been caught red handed and arrested. Chloe, however, is determined to find the real killer and does some dangerous amateur sleuthing in an attempt to find the truth and set her friend free. Great narration.

Can Chloe solve the murder?

This is a great listen, but what really caught me was the cute cover! The dog is eye catching! This mystery is a little more suspenseful than the other KM Morgan mysteries I have read, and I loved it! Chloe's best friend has recently broken up with her boyfriend. When he is found dead, the main suspect of course is her best friend! Chloe is convinced she is innocent. Can she find the murderer and free her friend? It's a quick fun listen as Chloe searches for clues. We meet eccentric characters, full of excuses and finger pointing! It kept me guessing until the end. Narrated by Stephanie Quinn, the book was a fun listen!

Another pleasant train journey

These books are just great to pass the time on a dull train journey in winter :) The characters are all believable and "nice". Nothing happens that's too shocking and there's just enough interest to keep me entertained. Narration is nice and clear.
